Default new 95 z28. need help for mods

Just got a 95 z28 with a lt1 motor. Light mode include: custom super fkin loud y-pipe, ported intake manifold, cold air, throttle body, msd ignition, original zr1 wheels. 265s. My plans are to put wide tires in the back, maybe 295s. Vengeance racing cams, 3.73 or 4.11 gears, better stronger rear end. Anyone got mode that would put me at 500rwhp on a budget. No nitrous. I want this thing to tear it up. What kind of mode and tires should I get, and any good websites? Thanks all

What kind of budget? And if you want 500 hp talk to AI or Lloyd Elliott an they will custom grind a cam and port your heads to match

Budget and 500rwhp don't really go together. Do bolt-ons first then go from there. Start with headers, good exhaust, gears 4.10s for m6 3.73 for a4, stall if you're auto, and a tune. Then do suspension work

500whp is going to cost you an easy $15k+ if you're starting from scratch.

Sounds like you have LT1-noob syndrome. I suggest you look through the stickies at the top of the forum before you make any more decisions.

Well my.budget is a navy budget. Roughly 850 a check every two weeks. I really want cams and gears. But I don't know what kind. I've read on forums for hours trying to figure it out. I have a perfect exhaust set up. Maybe headers would be good tho, like some hooker headers?

OP you need to decide what your really WANT out of the car. Just saying 500 horse and racing cams and budget... I mean it sounds good and well, but in reality you really need to do your homework and come up with a realistic goal. Once you do that we are all here to help. Personally I'd put in a 3.73 gear and spray it till it blows up. Rebuild, repeat. LT1s LOVE nitrous.

just save up for a 6months and then do the mod, like what they said heads and cam from LE and then boltons. tq converter if your auto with 373 and clutch with 411 if u m6. you should do lca and tq arm and read the stickies at top.

Okay well the guy I bought it from said it puts out around 360hp and 400 tq. I could shoot for 400 hp to the wheels. But 3.73 gears sounds great. And I've been reading up on lt1s to learn more. Im wondering where I can get a good trq converter, 3800 stall would be good? Or 2500. Is summit racing any good?

OK, So the person that you bought the car from says it has a ported intake? dont know why you would go to the trouble of pulling off the intake and porting it, anyway, It has no headders, no cam, just a CAI, the y and the intake and it makes 360 TO THE WHEELS I suggest you start reading up on the other noob that wanted 600 RWHP N/A..400 RWHP is much more realistic..

This would be hard to believe... Im still new to the whole LT1 thing been reading and studying about them for the last two years.. lol Im on a Marine corps budget of 2700 every two weeks and still havnt got to where i want to be.. I do have the wife and child though pulling from that..lol Set your goals for what you want out of the car.. Then start searching what works best and come up with a combo.. Then price the parts and i bet your budget will go out the window.. It all depends on what you want and what your willing to spend. My goal is 500rwhp with a 383 and afr's. Now im about 6 grand deep with everything and still need a rear, & converter. Its all for you to decide. Good luck to you and any of these guys can help you out with questions.. As stated above read the stickys and you can learn alot about what people are running and what kind of numbers they put down.. Again good luck to you..
