Default Thoughts on my new project?

I missed my 94 LT1 so much... I found me a 97 Z28 30th Anniversary to replace it!

Have to fix the a/c, interior front seats are torn, usual dash pad cracked, dings and dents (biggest one on the hood going through 1 of the stripes)...

BUT!

Block was bored .40 over
Comp cam #304 : 210/220 500/514 @114LSA
Long tubes y-pipe ceramic coated (cat-less)
B&M 2500 Stall
trans rebuilt with hughes kit (red race clutches)
255lph fuel pump

all done less than 1000 miles ago.

My plan is fix her up and keeping the appearance the same but a nice set of Torque Thrusts with 17x11 rears on 315/35R17 tires.

What do you all think!?
What times do you all think it'll put down with the mods. It still needs to be tuned, probably gonna go with PCM for less.

The 304 is a pretty poor choice, the B&M stall is downright tragic. Not tuned is just raging stupidity.
What happened to it that it needed .040" over and were the pistons and stuff that went back in any good or were they chosen with the same "care" as the B&M, lack of tune and cam?

IMO buying a modded car is a bit scary unless you have documentation that it was all good stuff AND worked well once put together.

I sincerely hope it all comes together well for you but also feel it is important to understand where you are starting.

IMO on the tune, find someone closer, I say that having used pcmforless in the PAST.

17x11 fit fine but with the 315's you might have to do a little bfh. Also that stall is super small and you an get a much better cam than that

Thats why im here!!!

I did the truck thing (which was a lot of fun) LS based. I didnt do much with my LT1 during the time I had it.

So, whats wrong with the cam? I had a 3000 Circle D on my Truck and it wound up quite a bit, great to launch but didnt like it much to daily drive. was stock geared (3.73) with 22" wheels 31"ish tires.

I know trucks are a world apart from cars but thats what im familiar with. Guide me the right way here guys.

I dont want a drag car, I want a good street performer/cruiser. But I do want speed when I need it!

Also, cant seem to find a tuner for LT1's in TEXAS!? Wish someone local would tune them where im from but havent found one

Congrats on the new ride. Sounds like a fun ride to have on the street with those mods already done on the motor. Those TT2 wheels are going to look great, even better with lowering springs. Find replacement seats, detail, repair/paint on whats needed and you'll have one killer street prowler. And with a set of drag radials, I wouldn't be surprise to see high to mid 12's. Good luck.
