Default Need help with picking the right tire size for my rims?

I have z06 c6 fronts are 18 by 9.5 and rears are 18 by 10.5. So how do I pick a tire size idk how. Meaning I know the rim is 18, but what about the rest. I just want tires to fit nicely on the wheels. Thanks. Not intended for drag, I drive this car errday.

Your rims allready have the correct offset, so now it is a personal choice as to what width and type of tire you want to go with. You can go up to 275 width up front and up to 295 in the rear. Realize you can not rotate tires, so you will only get about 30k miles per set of tires at the most. I have 17" z06's up front, and 18"'s in the rear. Just to let you know on ebay right now they have dunlop 9000's in 275/40/18 size for $125.00 each. Descent tire especially for the size/price.

Oh ok got it thanks yeah I dont know about this tire crap. thanks il go check ebay.

What about the number in the middle that goes by 5. like for example 275/40/18. What does the 40 mean how do I know what to pick. I think its called aspect ratio

How about the lowest of width i can go with the wheels?
Would appreciate thanks.

Ur correct in the middle number is called the sidewall aspect ratio. So in your example, the 40 means that the sidewall height (the distance from rim to tread) is 40% of the tires section width (the 275 meaning that the tire is 275 millimeters at its widest point). By doing some quick math, 275/25.4=10.826 inches and multiplying that by .4 is 4.33 inches of sidewall height. The lower the sidewall aspect ratio number, the lower profile of a tire it is. I wish i knew more about selecting tire sizes to help

I got 18 x 10.5s on all 4 and I went with 295/35 on the rear and 275/35 on the front. I really wish I would have went 295/35 on all 4 so I could rotate the tires, but all my research led me to believe they would rub on the front. Seems like I have plenty of room for 295s on the front.

Actually I wish I would have went with a taller tire on the rear....way too much gap in the fender wells...can't wait to lower it, but motor is more of a priority right now.

Yeah mine is dropped 1.25 or whatever with bmr so the lower profile is okay and fills the gap well. I have 17s up front so there is no way of rotating tires lol

Thanks you guys. I went with 265 fronts and 275 rears. Very economical on the price since I go to college.
