Default Oil Filter Bypass (Coolant Spacer)

Car is a 94 Z28.

I was wondering if there is any way that you can bypass the spacer that goes between the engine block and the oil filter?
Has anyone done this - If yes what part did you use?

Reason I am asking is because its leaking from the top - Between the block and the spacer and I can't find that O-ring anywhere.

Or does anyone know where to find that o-ring?
Auto parts places keep showing a repair kit for it - which looks nothing like it.

Any help is appreciated.

You can just take it off and buy a small piece of hose to loop the lines where they go into the water pump. The part your talking about it the oil cooler and imo its not entirely needed

Thanks, That's what i was talking about.
But what do you put in its place if I decide to bypass it?
Because I am trying to completly take the spacer out since the o-ring is leaking.

All I had to do on mine was dremel down the tops of the studs when I pulled it off.

Not sure if its the same on the later model since they use different coolers. On the early LT1 oil coolers, when you remove it the oil filter adapter is bolted to the block and has two studs sticking out of the head of each bolt. They need to be drilled down to clear the filter.

I just removed both of them and cut off the tops with a dremel, turning the studs into plain old bolts. Took literally seconds to do.

You can buy the o-ring from the dealer, or Fel Pro ES70687.
