Default Turbo LT1 whp estimate

1994 Formula, 6 speed, reinforced LT1 bored out to 355ci, Garrett .67 turbo on an STS remote turbo kit running at 10psi, tial blow off valve, k&n filter, holley fuel pump, boost controller, bbk 58mm throttle body, NGK Iridium IX plugs and alternator.

Assuming the rest is completely stock, what would be a realistic estimate of this car's whp?

So it's somewhere between 400 and 450whp right.

How much can I improve that with a good set of heads? It's got some suspension mods, 12" thick tires, new shocks...what do you think a car like that would do in the quarter.

Could be a 10-second car, could be a 12-second car. It just depends on a ton of variables.

I was just guessing since you have her limited information on the complete set up. What's the compression, is the tune spot on? Suspension wont gain you hp but will help plant it. Is the car stock castings on hot side or log type. Intercooled or meth?

That's what I thought too. I don't have those details on the car yet. It's a car I'm looking to buy off my buddy. He listed it for much higher online but he is selling it to me for only $5500. This is with 145,000 on the odo and 60,000 miles on the rebuild LT1. Worth it?

IMO, no. I would never buy a used car boosted w/ aftermarket components.

Good idea, I'll ask him about that. I'll take some pictures and put em up here see what you guys think. To be honest I haven't seen it up close yet myself. Might be too beat up to buy anyway, who knows.

But what really got me interested was the fact that it had a Moser 12-bolt rear end, upgraded T-56, and a welded 8-point roll cage.

Those are all good parts, bu you want to check the numbers and make sure they are what he is saying. Lots of people are stupid and lie to get rid of junk.

LOL

People on this forum man ..... So I put a CAI and a Cat back to go fast that make a car "Beat to ****" he upgraded trouble some parts. If you build a motor right it will last you don't go through a motor and put a turbo on it and keep it within stock specs am I wrong? 5500 bucks seems like a good deal to me I mean has that just in parts check in with the motor if it meets your needs buy it because doing a turbo set up with them parts will cost you double that easy.

I know man everyone wants a stock car so they could **** it up on their own. That's what I thought too its a good deal when you think about the cost of the parts. Just the turbo kit and the rear end are worth more than the whole car.

^^^^^^ what happens when you only get to enjoy the car for 2months? Those parts still gonna be worth it if you can't afford a rebuild?
