Default SBC heads on LT1

Will this work? Is it worth it?

I have some AFR 210's just sitting around & was wondering if they could be made to work.

LT1 is reverse flow...to make a long story short, if you are willing to weld on those nice AFR heads than there is a way to do it, so the answer is yes it can be done. Unfortunately that is as far as my advice goes.

Good luck!

You don't have to weld on them. I've seen a local guy here drill out one of the holes that needs to be plugged, then tap it, and install a threaded plug with sealant. I don't know all of the details on converting a set but I know it's not difficult, and many shops can do it for around $300-$400. Keep in mind that the intake bolt pattern is different as well. You might as well get yourself a single plane intake for an sbc at that point. Then you can use the coolant crossover in the intake as your high point for the stock coolant tube that goes behind the heads.

I had mine converted by CFM for $400. Only thing that worries me is the oil return holes are alot smaller. But so far so good.

Put them in a box and take them to a machine shop that has a good rep and feels comfortable doing it.

I'm not trying to be smart but what I'm trying to get at is, what is "it"? Just a couple holes need to be plugged off or....? I get free machine work done and can easily come by a good set of SBC heads. Thanks.
