ATI 8" Treemaster 4200 non-lockup here. It's a little tight for my low torque 350; best 60' is 1.46 at 3800 lb race weight. It flashes to 4200 on the launch.
Mike Harris runs the same one behind his solid roller 383; best 60' of 1.34, also at 3800 lbs. His motor flashes it to 5000-5200.
You may be surprised at how snappy these little 8" converters feel in driving around. Much better than a 9.5" 4200 stall.

A sales Rep recommended a 4400 for a weekend warrior SBC that wasn't even what I would call very aggressive...I want to try one in a 700r4 behind my 383 badly.

For me it was PTC, NC or ATI. Then I was talking to Kline and his guy Frank and they both run BTE and BOTH fly. I got my converter new for a killer price and figure its worth the gamble. Ive seen them work, only read good things and the guys at BTE were great to work with. If it performs as well as their cars Ill be happy.
