SCAT Rotating Assembly

SCAT Rotating Assembly
Was looking at a Scat Rotating Assembly. I've only herd bad things about eagle cranks and am curious what you guys thing of this
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCA-1-41831BIE/
My goals are about 440-450 rwhp. Want to run high compression on e85. I also plan on running anywhere from a 150-250 shot of nitrous. This should hold it, I'm just wondering if it is a good choice. Also, what about the price? Can I do better?

No I haven't. My uncle and I are building the engine, the shop will only be doing the things we can't. (.30 over bore, stroker clearances, 4 bolt main splayed caps, balancing, etc) Also, it says it comes balanced, how's that work? Is it actually balanced or just close?

Compstar stopped offering 1-piece rear main cranks so you would need to use an adapter with them BUT that is Callies budget line and is barely any more money.
440-450rwhp NA is doable but you probably wont get there with DIY heads and some popular offering might get you there on the dyno but not work so wonderfully at the track.
Hope you choose better there than the rotating assembly.

Rather than being negative about it, how about you contribute to the thread. If you think my choice in the rotating assembly is poor, than offer something up rather than just saying its ****. I want to know why its bad, where I can improve both in price and quality. I'm looking for information, not criticism on my build, that's not what this thread is about. The only reason I gave that information is so there is something to relate to.

Don't assume eagle is bad, cast is one thing but the 4340 forged cranks are in ALOT of engines putting down the numbers you want. Mine balanced very well with minimal material drilled and removed , none of the journals were outta round or needed cleaned up or cut on..

I'm running an Eagle LW 4340 crank and Scat H beams. Have had the same crank in two different builds with no problems. My machine shop had no problems balancing both times. Lots of folks in here don't like Eagle. I have no complaint so far. Lots of passes with no problems.

Someone sent you on a wild goose chase for parts no longer made and I offered you a solution.
Given the other parts though just go with the Scat stuff you picked first.
Even with E85 though I think your goal is high for the parts chosen.

also yes like he said the -16 dish prob isn't going to be your answer there...
also the 2 piece rear main isn't an issue.......i run a two piece callies magnum crank in mine the adapter is about $100 if iirc to adapt the 2 piece sbc crank to the 1 piece rear block....

Check out Competition Products or Howards, I got a Howards Tracksmart 4340 forged crank, 6" H beam rods and Mahle Power Pac pistons, with rings and coated bearings for $1900 and the crank and rods are made in the USA.
