Default Another year gone. Did you meet your goal? Next years goal?

Well its that time of year again. Its time to put the car up for the year. I didnt get anything done I wanted to this year. I only made two Track days with the car, Both being Nightmares. The first time I twisted off wheel studs, the second time I ran 7.00@92mph on an aborted nitrous pass because of a upper rpm break up. Also made it to one car show

Being a new homeowner this year really cut into my car time, At the beginning I didnt have any time, Now that I have time Ive been fighting mechanical problems.

If I get my car figured out I would like to make a november track day at KCIR if they have one.

I have some goals Id like to meet this winter:
Remove engine and transmission
Clean everything up again
Strip/paint the under carriage
Run new fuel & brake lines
Have the front QA1s rebuilt (they are leaking a tad)
Rear Drag Bar
Clean up the wiring. Not so much a tuck, just a clean install

Its a hefty list for me with limited time But hopefully I can get them done one by one and the end result will be great.

What are your plans? Did you meet any goals you had made this year?

My car goals for 2011

1. Build new motor
2. Enter the LTxShootout
3. Run low 10's n/a pump gas

I got #1 and #2 but didn't run the number I wanted. I ran a 10.58 at 128.27 . I need to switch up a few things with the car so I can have the ability to tune it. Either swap to a carb, or swap to an aftermarket efi controller with built-in software for tuning. My local guy just isn't capable of tuning my car, and i'm sick of dealing with outside help. It's currently running in open loop right now. My car flies into the 7k rev limiter which tells me I blew it on the camshaft spec, lol. To me it feels like it wants to go to 7400 or so. If I could rev it that high I could gear it better and take advantage of the useful rpm. At least i'm way ahead of the game for the 2012 shootout!

I got my car back together and the new 398 in it. Took longer than expected but goal was to get it driveable by the end of this season.

Over the winter plans are rear end, chute and mount and the cage. I need to do some more work on the n20 install and put in my new Nitrous outlet plate. I also need to order up the drag bar and get that in.

Next season will bring some challenges getting the suspension dialed in and getting the car to hook. Right now it is just plain stupid 1-3rd gear. I may end up biting the bullet and go with a 400 and a brake and ditch the t56. I really like the t56 but sometimes it can be a pain.

Well I'm hoping to get one more track day in. But with snow in forecast which means salt on the road which means Camaro stays in side. Road +salt= no drive Camaro. Had no real goals this year other then to back up my bolt 12sec passes. If I can get the car out it would be in -da so I'd love to see a 12.5.
I got a new converter and hot cam to put in over the winter. And I'm on a hunt for a nice used 12 bolt
But first I want to paint the garage, add more lights and insulation

You could sell your T56, pedal assembly and clutch and practically finance your entire auto transmission. You's still need some bucks for a converter though.

I did my first cam swap and valvetrain install over last winter. The car runs so thats good. Was looking for 12's but ended up launching a t-top instead and running a 14.3. never made it back out. Last year my best was a 13.6, that run wouldve been around a 13.4- 13.5. Not impressive for adding cam/headers/valvetrain.

This winter... innovate afr wideband and get my tune figured out. Ditch the nitto 555r junk tires for some 275 or 295 MT et streets. Get my 17x9.5 TTM's on and shitty ZR1 wheels off. Possibly a Ram air Ws6 stock style 93-97 hood.

Hard to keep up with everything when you can only work on the car on the weekends.

Yeah I have thought about that. Problem is I have two other fbodies here at the house, wifes and sons and they are both auto cars with drivers wishing they had stick.....

I have my trans guy here who only builds race trans set ups annd crews for some big race teams. He is well known for his 400's. Already got a quote from him but hard to pull the triger since I have so many other things I need to get done. I really need to look at long term plans for the car since I want to eventually throw in a lsx block and f1. That should happen within a couple years after I do all I want with this set up.

After a couple of years of being broke and unable to spend money on the car, I finally got a lot of problems solved with my car and got it closer to where it should be. This winter I am building a 355 with 21 degree LE Trick flows.

I got my spring goals of getting my true duals done and running mid 13s accomplished. My summer goal was either h/c or a built rear, but I ended up settling with a built t56 since it took a crap on me. My fall goal was/is to run 12.99 or better with strictly bolt ons. That will be tested at my track rental at atco in 2 weeks.

None of my goals were really met this year but I must say I am still very happy. I met the girl of my dreams, I went on some really cool cheap vacations, met some more good people at the shootout, and I got some great deals on parts.

I picked up a brand new 355 which is at Clayton racing, my Trans has been converted to work with the Ls computer swap, I have some bare heads at a place called GRE in lakemoor, il and they are designing a port and putting them on a 5-axis CNC machine.

So the goal for 2012 is to get an s60 with 4.10 gears and a lightweight spool finish the PCM swap, and I have wishful dreams of running very low 11's maybe hit high 10's.

I started doing my FI build which i wanted to start this year. I will finish it early 2012. Goal for next year is to put down ~ 650 - 700 which i think is easily attainable with the setup i will have in place.

I actually did accomplish some LT1 goals some to think of it, junky exhaust is gone, car got tuned, it's getting the 12 Bolt rebuilt the way I want, suspension is finally done the way I want. I have to redo the dash but I made a ton of progress on the interior. Next years goals will be to finish the interior, fix the ratty alarm wiring and if it gets the 398, great, if not oh well. The car sat for so long for so many reasons after the heads and cam swap, I am very hesitant to take it apart when it's running.

I still like the LT1 cars, you won't miss the 4th gen with the C5 or C6.

Some yes. Some no.
We were shooting for a top 5 qualifying spot at the ltx race. We qualified #1.
We wanted to win the ltx race. We runnered up.
We got a little bonus a few weeks ago. Ran our first 8. Went 8.96 on against the limited for the last 1.4 sec's of the run.
