Default LT1 Z vs LS3 Vette

This summer I purchased a 09 Vette 6M completely stock 436hp.

VS

I am currently rebuilding my old 1994 Z28 A4, stock cube newly rebuilt LT1, baby cam'ed (227 Crane) LE1 heads, 1.7RR, ebay type LT Headers, Edge 3200 stall, 4.10 gears, no smog, no air, no egr, eliminated Cat, all the free mods, and a madtuner mail away tune. No weight reduction.

How will the Z28 fair from a slow roll? Do I need to spray to stay competitive? or is the Vette in trouble?

I would say (with never having even seen a bolt on go up agains the LS3) the Vette has it. Maybe on a track with Vette on street tires and LT1 on DR's it could get out of the hole and have a shot but traction and a little bit more power may be in order for the LT1 on the street and any time you get traction There is that 10 bolt waiting to unleash its guts. Thats just my worthless .02

You would probably need slicks and suspension work on the Camaro to keep up....the Corvette runs low 12's on street tires; it's lighter and makes significantly more HP. That said low 12's seem doable with your combo with a decent tire, auto is also an advantage at the strip.

If the person driving the Vette knows what they're doing it will destroy you.

with a good driver in the vette it will eat up the LT1. The LS3's are no slouch at all. Why not get some bigger heads and cam for the Camaro? The Camaro could take out the LS3 no problem with the right mods.

I am looking to make it a sleeper. Little to no lobe even stock salad shooters. It will have new paint (same as it came stock) with a new interior but I am looking to surprise more than look the part. So I guess a tucked 100 shot or god forbid a Powerdyne might be in order. (I hear they are real quite especially when the belt has snapped).

I was hoping the stall and 4.10 would make up most if not all of the ground on the 70Hp difference atleast around town. The weight of the two cars are closer than I thought, The Camaro weighs in at only 223lbs more.

Vette.....380rwhp
Z28........310rwhp (just a guess) Engine builder said to expect 375ish crank.

Ls3 every time. Open up the exhaust and intake on the ls3 and the engine will really wake up. And a diablo sport and be set.

typically the vette will take it but it depends on how well ur camaro is setup for the track and how good of a driver you are and the person in the vette is
