You're right. Lets all go sign up on a Mustang forum and mention the new ZR1

Don't get me wrong the Coyote engine is pretty damn good engine but the block is completely limited displacement wise.
The people who use this argument generally also make the realization they cannot afford more than their current and usually inferior platform

The 5.0 does just fine for the displacement it is at

Stupid ford for coming out with these new cars when everyone can buy a piece of **** 15-20 year old f-body and do the same thing.
Agreed 100%

I am in the same boat. Looks (beauty) is all in the eye of the beholder. I personally like the Camaro a bit over the Mustang in the looks department but the power the new 5.0 is making for the price is pretty hard to ignore. The new 5th gens love to make a good dyno number but their drag strip numbers never seem to match.

So they run just as good as any thing else.
The new 5.0's are definitely a force to be reckoned with. I am a GM guy heart and soul and will be buying a Corvette here within the next few years (money is here, time just isn't with being in college). I just find it amusing lots of guys in here are nutswinging GM stuff when Chevy has its head up its **** lately

LOL....likewise, I too find quite amusing so many guys are nutswinging the GT500 on a website called "LS1.tech.com"....a little ironic don't you think? Maybe I should start a thread on how the new 545 HP Nissan GT-R will smoke the dog **** out of the GT500, ZL1, Z06, 99.99% of all LT1s, ****, even the freaking ZR-1 gets it's doors blown off by a stock turboed 6 banger!?! 0-60 2.8 seconds stock on street tires; runs deep 10's from the factory. Run for the hills everybody, Godzilla is coming to a track near you...LOL

Regardless of what site I am a member on, I am not ignorant enough to deny the superiority of one car to another...

You can also read from my OP that I am a GM fan. Love the GT-R as far as performance but IMO they are ugly. Looks are subjective though

Not really directing my post at you specifically, but at this point in time, it's ignorant to claim either car as superior....neither is in current production; bench racing based on current similar cars (Supersnake vs. CTS-V) is the closest indicator. The current 5.0 GT does beat the SS Camaro hands down performance wise, you cannot argue hard numbers. Everything else is subjective as mentioned. I would not count the ZL1 out yet, I'll reserve my judgement for the comparison test.

Gotcha. My direction was towards the new 5.0's vs. the L99/LS3 5th gen's. Minus the junky Getrag M6 transmissions in them. The ZL1 will be a great performer. Look at the video of it going around the Ring and that is a given. I'm just curious to see if Ford will pull off the same masterpiece with this new GT500. Hopefully Chevy will then follow suit.

Alright kids, here's a real Mustang:

Google the FR500. I think they hold both ends of the AA/AS NHRA record. Took it from the drag pack 10 cylinder Challengers.

To me it's all about personal preference, I mean unless you're running your car in "stock eliminator" or something then it doesn't really matter does it? I mean I personally love the looks of the 93-97 Camaros so if I want to stomp the *** of any of the new cars I simply build an engine with more than enough power (twin turbo built LT1) and appropriate drivetrain and suspension to destroy all comers with the looks of a car I like. So it doesn''t matter either build what you like or buy what you like there's always someone with more resources who will be faster.

So, basically those who appreciate what Ford is doing with the new Coyote platform are nutswingers? What does that make you?

This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paRia...feature=fvwrel > anything chevy comes out with. You would have a tough time building a car that fast for what you can buy it for.

Evolution Performance has gone 8s with the stock displacement, the heads are great on that motor. Lunati is suppose to have a stroker crank in the works. Way I see it, no auto manufacturer is loyal to you, why be loyal to them? I like cars, so who ever has the product that meets my needs/wants, it gets the nod. Brand Loyalty is pretty stupid.
