No it's a 95. I still haven't figured out why I had a purple wire in cavity 2 though.

Sox it feels good to know I'm almost done.

The 1995 F-Body harness has several odd things going on (compared to the rest of the 4th gen cars). I have to be sure I'm thinking clearly before getting too far with a 1995 build.

In 1995 the Class 2 serial data wire is included in the OBDII diagnostic connector and runs with the I/P harness (dash harness) to connector C230 (that's the blue one) cavity K. It terminates there. The fuel injection harness that mates to it has an open cavity.

GM must plan out the harness well in advance of production so that it can be thoroughly tested for things like electromagnetic interference (EMI, or RFI) and so on. I would guess that the PCM selection wasn't 100% by the time they had to send the requirements for harness production. In 1996, C230 cavity K was populated with the Class 2 serial data wire and went straight to the PCM.

Im a little lost with the green and black wires of the ac compressor, they go into the same splice, then the 12v ac compressor wire goes to the pcm, when the black wire from the same splece runs through another splice of black wires wich run to the coil, ICM, and to a ground. Why would the 12v wire be to a ground?

I guess it confuses me a little.

The green wire and black wire are not tied together. What you think is a splice is actually a diode wired into the circuit.

Hey Mike,

If your still trying to retain EGR is it possible to use with the LS1 pcm? I guess same goes with the EVAP and AIR pump can they be used and function aswell?

Thanks!

Scratch that last post I'm just going to buy one from efi now they have them back in stock. Also found out that I'm going to be using Ion for my tuning. Could never get up with pcm4less or speed inc.

Im not a tuner myself but my local friend that does his own and many others said it shouldnt be very hard to change the perimeters and tune it. Sounds like any knowledgable tuner thats willing to work with a new type of tune should be able to get something done for you. Cant wait to see the first start its making me super anxious for spring as i have to wait to finish the rest of mine

Yea I've got a friend that can tune pretty well too but I would at least have a solid base before he tunes it. Doing some horse trading in the process detailing his tbss and he's tuning mine. I'm super close I finally bought a knock sensor it should be here after while. And I'll be getting a PCM prolly sometime this week when I get paid.

Little update now that I'm home with good weather. Got my knock sensor thanks to lswho. And my PCM will be here Wednesday. Then off to ion for a mail order tune. I'm so close I can smell it. Im starting to get excited I've still got a few loose ends to attend to but trying to stay on one thing at a time.

Well got a problem found that I left the starter ground undone. So as I go to tighten it down I broke the stud off the starter. Anyone know how to fix this?

Is that a factory 96-97 timing cover painted black or did it come with the kit?
