efi connection conversion
how many of you have made the swap and was it worth it? i have to get a newer tranny which sucks for me cause nothing is wrong with mine so i was just wondering. would love to do away with the opti but at the same time dont want to make more problems trying to solve one. thanks in advance
my car hasnt ran right in years so i just want to try something! i dont really want to do a ls swap cause thats even more money and headache and i believe i can achieve my goals with the good ol LT.
I mainly am doing this conversion to get rid of the opti and to be able to use the "411" pcm for better tuning.
It's a nice set up, I have a 93 so my tuning choices were a bit limited, it made more sense than a FAST. If I had a later LT1 MAF PCM and some one to tune it, I may have just stuck with it. Far my purposes it's worked really well.

Did ya'll have to buy that Billet cover or did ya'll mod the one you have to clear double roller chains. I gotta try n save on everything I can cause I'm going to have to get the newer transmission too
I think you only have to swap in the later solenoids or something? You don't need a whole newer transmission. That is overkill unless you know someone near you with one cheap and you can recoup your costs selling yours.
I did the Efi24x conversion. I'm very impress with the quality parts from Efi Connection. Although the plug and play harness took a while to build, but it was worth the wait. All connectors were tagged, and wires were neatly loomed for easy plug and play. I, too have the older 4L60E that has to be updated to a 96-97 internals---electrical wire harness, solenoids, valvebody, in which FLT is doing the update. After that, a visit to the dyno for tuning and the car should be ready for some test and tune come spring time.
Well mine is stock with a transgo shift kit so I was gonna eventually get one from performabuilt just glad I found this out before buying one. I'm gonna just try n sell mine locally.
