Default Spray vs Compression

I'm starting to think being really fast takes nitrous or boost. I can't afford boost, so how about nitrous?

I've got about 12:1 compression maybe more. Forged everything. Could I run nitrous? How much? What kind?

Don't say search!!! LOL Search sux from my crappy cellphone.

some motor builders i trust say nitrous likes compression. There's no correlation to the need for low compression such as in turbo or supercharger.

Bull$hit!!!

next to that it depends on your bottom end mainly....crank? rods? rod bolts? pistons? ring gap? piston to wall clearance?

all must be factored in......

Well I'm talking about goin from high 10s to high 9s. Seems like N/A doesn't cut it. There are a few out there though running consistent mid 10s high 9s.

I just don't have the money to do it N/A. So I'm thinking about juice.

Everything quik95 said plus what is your quench distance?

Its totally dependant on your setup as to how much you can spray.

My setup is 13.6 : 1 and I'm going to spray a big shot, but everything in the engine is setup for it.

Take a Max effort N/A mill and you could destroy it with a 100 shot and the wrong tune up...

High 9's with nitrous with a 12:1 forged motor in an F-body should be a walk in the park. That CR is not a hindrance whatsoever. It just means you can light the fire later in the compression stroke.
With the small shot it takes to do that, all you need to be sure of is the quality of the motor build and the top ring gap.

It's so easy, it's CHEATING! ....right, Mikey?

You also need to be sure of the tune as well. If he has a super tight quench it will make the tuning window pretty narrow.

If you want to go bigger than approx a 150 shot, you will want to pull the pistons and open up that top ring gap. You set up the ring gaps right, you will be able to spray a ton. Smarter folks on here can tell what the ring gaps should be.

Good luck!!

I ran a 150 shot all day long on a stock bottom end. It should take a 100 shot without problems.

Your forge pistons will def help with the increased cylinder pressure yer gonna add. Should hold up with the temps but, setting up the rings on yer slugs r key for heavy hits. You'll do just fine with 100 shot easily, or even 150. Tune her and let her fly...

for a 150 shot? just plumb a 1/16 nozzle, no need to spend a buttload

150 shouldn't be a big deal if you watch the tune up. Start conservative and READ YOUR PLUGS.

I have only ever owned a NX kit, but it was great quality and I never had issues with it. Your goal should be a walk in the park with a little spray
