I like allens because you can get a ball tipped allen wrench in there at a pretty extreme angle. Sometimes that makes it a lot easier and there's no downside really.

My pacesetter headers came with bolts so thats what I used on mine. I just made sure to re tighten them after the first few heat cycles and now I just check them when I change the oil and haven't had a problem with them coming loose.
