Default Bs head gasket?

I have an oil leak from the pan and when I went to add some oil today this is what I found

Is this a bad head gasket or is there something else causing this?

Looks like milkshake. You either have coolant mixing with oil, or maybe condensation mixing with oil.

condensation = good

coolant = headgasket = bad

Ya it's the filler neck and if it was a headgasket wouldn't the car overheat?

It will in time. If there is still coolant flowing, the engine wont overheat. It could be a small leak. In time it will get bigger and then you will have a heat issue. Is the valve cover full of that, or is it just up in that filler neck?

It's common to have that buildup in the valve covers, especially if you drive lots of short trips. Do a coolant leak down test .

I haven't gotten a chance to inspect the valve cover fully yet but it appears to be just the filler neck. I only drive it about 20min to work and back but other than that just really short trips around town. I will check vc and coolant leak down test tomorrow before i het her on the left and fix some of these damn oil leaks

thats just condensation from pcv system in most cases. but i would still do a leak down test or radiator pressure test to at least give u a clue.

what does the oil in the dipstick look like? I also think its just condensation. A bad head gasket will make the dipstick oil milky and will raise the oil level. You can also turn on your car with the radiator cap off and check to see if a bunch of bubbles start floating up. If so, that indicates a bad head gasket.

Usually happens more so this time of year than any other since ambient temperature variation is so vast. Best thing to do is to make sure to run engine to full operating temperature every time it is started.

Well guys didn't get a chance to do anything today as I got stuck working a double till 10 tonight but im off tomorrow so I will be able to get some things taken care of. I did notice earlier that the milkshake is not in filler neck today
SS RRR that's good to know about it being common this time of year and car does get to operating temp everytime I drive it even on short drives as I let it warm up pretty good before I leave to go somewhere

Perhaps you already know, but it takes a significantly longer amount of time for oil to reach operating temp over coolant.

Went up to the shop tonight and put her on the lift to fix a big oil leak and found this

Sensor housing on side of oil pan

Bought new housing to replace it but I'm afraid that broken part is in the pan now and how long its been there. Luckily I need to still replace the oil pan gasket but decided to stop for the night to drink and watch the national championship game.
On a side note the oil was not milky at all so im thinking it's not a headgasket

Think Alabama has this one.....Wish LSU would make a game out of it. What a one sided game so far.
