LT1 12.1 Boost??

Default LT1 12.1 Boost??

Purchased a 396 shortblock sometime last year. Assy will go underway soon. I've seriously considered getting rid of the nitrous and going with a Vortech.

My main concerns are boost + 12.1 CR.
Will 93 octane be ok with this? What kind of boost should I expect to feed a shortblock with that much pressure.
I keep being told(by one person) I'll have to run some sort of race fuel or E85 for this set up.
Is 12.1 CR + boost + 93 Not ideal?
My heads and Cam are not get finished so those items can be adjusted to the setup still.

Yeah, close this before all the master mechanics rip you to shreds, lol. Seriously though i talked to one of my mechanics who IS a master and he confirmed i would need pure race gas.

Why not just spray it if you want more hp? It would actually be safer than boost if setup properly, high compression and nitrous are your friends.

I don't think it matters what pistons are in the block with 12.1 + boost. That motor wont last very long at all. Even with meth a cooler and 110 keeping timing down will all just be a waste. Best thing to do would be to sell that engine and either biy a ready FI engine or completely rebuild the one you have. Anything over 9.5/1 is a waste on a FI engine and limits the amount of boost you can run safely. Why only run 5psi and be blown away by NA cars. Or build it to handle 10-20 and destroy just about anything on the road.
