Biggest rear tire on stock wheel with stock wheel wells???
#2
I was extensively looking into this about a month ago. I came up with a 295/50/16
This was the tire I was going to try out: http://www.jegs.com/i/Hoosier/522/17...oductId=760685
I figured it would be sweet for a street/sleeper setup on some salad shooters.
Edit: I remember some people saying they needed to do the BFH mod, others said they did not. Cannot say for certain what it would be for an individual's case.

Yeah, some people were saying that it is dangerous, etc. But the people who actually USE them say they work well and have seen some pretty low short times on them. If time and money permits I may give them a shot.

They are the same size as yours 315/35/17 but I would look at the M&H racemaster tires you can get a 28in tall tire 325/45/R17 on a 17in rim instead of the typical 26in tall sidewall.
They are pricey though.

Im not sure what size tire im going to since I am currently running 4.10 gears on my new turbo set up and will be swapping to a new gearing. But the M/T look pretty good and worked well on my Vette.

Keep in mind to that a taller tire will effectively change your rear gear ratio also.
Sorry for the high-jack Mike

A quick google search will yield quite a few members on here using that size tire on factory 16x8 wheels. Not necessarily a salad shooter, but same exact size wheel (98+ factory camaro wheels).
