Default high rpm hyd. roller

are the high-rev morel brand lifters a must to reach 7300 rpm reliably without pumping up and losing power? or can it be done with a stock style lifter? Aggressive hyd. roller cam. .645/.611 237/242 on a 109. LT-1, 355 cube.

With that cam I would say go with the Morels or the Lunati's that are made by Morel. Also your LT1 won't go to 7300 with the stock electronics. You might want to igure n 7200 Max and possibly a bit lower. Sounds like a fun build.

My 350 would cut out at just a touch above 7k. Not sure how some guys get theirs to rev to 7200.

What about the GMPP "Cadillac racing" if you really don't want to use stock?

Keep the preload to a minimum and run real good springs. We run 242/248 @ 0.050 go through the traps at 6900.

I agree that LS7s should be plenty for the application (and inexpensive to boot).

Stock lifters, 1/8 turn preload, 7100 rpm. Big block style beehive springs from AI. No issues in 2 seasons so far.

depends on the lobe profile, lifters, valve mass, and springs. Typical problems with the cast body lifters is flex due to side loading which causes them to bleed down.

GMPP lifters here, cam is in that ballpark, shift @ 6500. So far so good. Might change things next year, who knows.
