What is the car doing that makes you think the pcm is failing?

Better to give symptoms, than to try to pin a problem on a specific thing. Computers rarely go bad.

about a month ago after i put on a new distribtor and coil and fuel injectors the car stared running fine then i noticed i had to give the car gas for it to crank and just a few days ago the car will just run for a min. or two and just shut off.

I hope you all can understand what im trying to say

Yeah, that is probably not a computer "going bad".

I'd start diagnosing the problem by checking the fuel pressure and checking for trouble codes.

Have you checked for the presence of spark when it dies and won't start? BTW a DTC 16 from the opti does not make the check engine light come on, so you really need to scan.

fire the mechanic. Any mechanic that goes straight for the PCM as a source of the problem before going throught actual signal test to and from the PCM is a waist of money and what I like to call A Parts Pusher. Stay a way and do some of the basics stated above. find someone with a fuel pressure gauge, a scanner that can data log and run it until the problem happens. It can be a bitch to figure out but spend the time you will save a ton of money V's having this so called mechanic throw parts at it.

What distributor did you put on and did the one before this die or was it replaced as a tuneup item?

Was the vent harness changed? I think you might have missed the cause of the first failure. Also they often just need a cap and rotor, don't buy into the opti hate. It is a good piece when handled competently.
