Default single plane intake

is this a good setup? and what all will i need to do as far as wiring and running an lsx style throttle body to make this work? click link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Dart-...52399341759282
setup: 398 ci forged LT1, AFR 210 cc heads with a little extra work, big custom grind cam with a high lsa for boost. also low compression to handle north of 17lbs of boost on a procharger. will be using the ls1 pcm conversion and ditching the opti. have all that figured out mostly. just havent decided on what to do as far as the intake/throttle body setup goes.

First thing I noticed is the intake is not converted to LT1 bolt pattern.

Is it just me or does that elbow look a bit restricted on the down turn?

The center holes have not been drilled yet so its not converted was Gen2 heads yet.

Specs on the build? A single plane may not be worth much to you anyway depending on your cam, engine size, and RPMs.

Hell yea .

I would be checking sites like racingjunk for a used supervic, they pop up cheap every once in a while.

The Edelbrock carb hat is know to have restrictions and is not the best choice. I do like the single plane for certain applications with a 4150 style throttle body. For a daily driven street car it's hard to beat the stock manifold up to at least 500 FWHP. You'll have a bunch more bottom end and more fun.

The single plane starts to pull ahead over 6500 RPM's and the Opti quits around 6900-7200. Is all that fab work going to be worth it to gain a horsepower or two over a 500 RPM range. It does look cool and will set you apart at the cruise-in.

i get what you are saying, but this isnt just a basic 500hp build. i am aiming more towards the 750 rwhp and up with this. big cube, low compression, built to handle plenty of boost. which i plan to run. and i am ditching the opti all together to run the ls1 pcm conversion
