The CC304 is about 2% better than stock. If you're just looking for that tiny noticeable extra bit then it's a good cam. But since you don't list what your goals are it's hard to make a recommendation.

Most will say that it's a baby cam and not worth it though. Have you tried a search?

That would be a fun street cam. I ran 12.49@115 with the crane 227 cam in a full weight car with mediocre heads and a mail order tune that was a bit off.

1000-5000 RPM operating range? Sounds like a truck cam...if that's where you want your power this is the cam for you. Most here will tell you to step it up a notch or two to make the trouble worthwhile

You really need to read this and decide for yourself, good info here:

Judging by your first choice, I'm going to assume you want a very mild cam for a daily driver. For a baby cam I would look at the XFI 466. It is basically a higher lift hotcam using newer, more advanced lobes that work well with todays higher quality valvetrain parts then what was available for the same price 15 years ago.

503 would be my next step up, and is probably my favorite shelf cam overall for a stock cubed car.

Well I seen it on craigslist and I was unsure of this cam. Well I did change my plans on my car, since I bought a newer truck I am going to not driver the car as much so a rougher cam will be nice but I need something that wont break my bank, dang trucks are expensive these days lol. I know these cams are heads and all the parts for it are very expensive.

what cams are great power and rough idle?

well from experiance the cc 304 is not much better then stock and it makes its horsepower and torque down lower in the rpm range. if your just lookin for more grunt off the line it will deffinatly achieve that but once you start climbin up the rpm it starts to loose momentum to the point it feels like a stock cam by 5500. i wouldnt spin it and hope to make power past 6000 rpm. If you ran 1.6rr it would probably help this a little but i couldnt tell you for sure as im still setup on 1.5rr. its a major sleeper cam. you gotta know its there to notice it.

its a good daily driver/economy cam, ive pulled 22 mpg highway untuned and average about 17.5-18 in town. good for stoplight to stoplight on the street but on the track i dont think it would impress you very much

if your sticking with stock unported heads id go with a cc 503 or a custom grind from LE or AI

You need ported heads to get BOTH great power and rough idle....nothing is free. You have to give up one for the other if you are on stock heads. Lots of people put the old cc306 on stock headed cars; it sounds great but will be a turd below 3K rpm. Decide which is more important if your not getting heads too: sound or performance? If you still can't decide, just get a middle of the road cam...even the hot cam, cc305, lunati voodoo 60121, has a noticeable lope; and those will still perform decently with stock heads.

Oh yea, from your response you still haven't read the cam sticky....do it! https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...ion-guide.html

speed_demon24 the 227 cam is a better cam than this, for one this has a 114 LSA, turbo is the only maybe reasonable cause for an LSA that wide on such a small cam..

Far as the operating range Comp's ranges are all 5-800+rpm lower than reality for the LT1, that cam will want 6000rpm shifts.

Better chance of getting replies if you start your own thread, it's not polite to hijack an old thread with new questions.
