Default dyno @ 7pm tonight, fresh 357....

What do you guys think...

40 over
lightly ported / cleaned up heads/intake (94 casting)
LE stick 226/234 565/565 111
11.6.1 Comp
mac header / hooker aerochamber exhaust
1.6rr crane gold
e cutout
3.73/ 10 bolt
stock bored out 52mm TB
lid w/ ftra ( i put up pics, no one has theirs setup like mine)
295/35/18 rear tires, zo6 rep rims. pretty heavy.
ls1 DS
m6 t56

put down 323/338 with bolts ons + heads / intake that are on the car now...only real diff from those numbers will be cam, lid, ftra, compression.

hoping to break 375rwhp, 400rwtq. well see...

I'm going to say it will make precisely: 372 HP 368 TQ

What does the "winner" get for an accurate prediction?

I made your goal with le's one step lower cam, lower cr, and ported heads. If the heads work well I see no reason why it wouldn't hit your goal if not exceed them if the tune is spot on.

350-375 depending on who did the heads. Honestly I'd say around 360...if it made 323 on the same heads/intake, I don't see 50hp coming from just that mild cam.

Longtubes and some headwork would be worth a few more ponies, and would then definitely hit your 375 goal .

349/351

I really need LT's....The cutout was 10/10

I was also having a bit of ELE. issues Ion said, i should have another 5-6rwhp in it as is. Made 5 pulls all right at 345-350. With LT's and a decent set of heads the car should be over 400rwhp.

It drives like stock, with a bit of clutch chatter and some lope.

AI's 226/234 put down 370/355 rw. But that car had LT's & a EWP. If i had both of those i should be at 375/380 ~ ish. So i was using that as a baseline.

Now the plan is LT's and a 100-150 shot. Which ones for lowered car's ?? pacesetter, LPP, or those new OBX ??

A healthy breathing N/A, manual transmission setup will be hard pressed to produce more torque than HP with the way the two are calculated. What size are the Mac primaries again? 1 5/8"?

How much HP did your tuner pick up over the baseline run? I agree it seems low considering both more compression and a decent sized cam would only pick up 26hp. Maybe you need a better dyno tuner When my car was cam only, my tuner picked up 11 RWHP over the PCMforless mail order tune on the car already....I would expect even more of a gain due to tuning on a stouter combo with ported heads ect. For what it's worth, my local tuner says typical LT1's will pick up between 10-25 hp depending on the combo with a dyno tune from his experience.

my heads just have a clean up job. No real porting. the car picked up about 7-8rwhp from the tune.

Ion did the base tune also, i was/am having lots of other issues with the car still.

For a cam only car 350rw is dam good(esp w/my mild cam). my motor needs LT's bad, the extra compression needs to get the air out. so far that is my issue.

"Cam only" LT1's do not have 11.6 CR I'm interested to test your smallish header theory soon on my 11.4 CR 383 with CNC ported heads and intake with pacesetter mid-tube headers (lowered)....if it's under 410 rwhp or so then will I know they are as big of a restriction as you say for a high compression LT1. I have my doubts about 25+hp gains from upgrading from shorties/mids to longtubes. So when are you getting these longtubes and re-dyno? Some solid dyno # results would be cool.

Don't worry about dyno numbers. Go see what it traps at the track.

Just wait man. you ll see. line up a set of LT's cuz you ll be shopping for them the next day after the dyno. Not going with them from the start was my mistake and i have learned from it.

I know i will get another 12-14rwhp from LT's, when i opened up my cutout the curve was better. more TQ down low also.

Midlengths are not that bad a thing. My old AI 190cc 226 cam setup ran 11.9s with midlength 1 5/8" headers and 2.5" dual exhaust.

Nah...I'm too low for longtubes I have a LS1 car with them and it's got less clearance than my slammed LT1; and I just had to have a $200 custom Y pipe made for mids to fit a 7qt pan. I'll be happy with whatever number pops out on the screen on dyno day as long as it's over 400 after tuning...my butt dyno says it's about 100 more HP than my cam only combo and waayyy more torque

thats the reason why i didnt do them from the start. Strano springs, Koni 4/4's. My DS loop already touches a few things depending where i am...
