Default carb'd 383 in 94 trans am

I am wondering what it will take to put a carb'd 383 in my 94 trans am. The car already has a 400 turbo, 3600 stall, moser 9" with 350 gears, everything underneath car is aftermarket. I have a 383 that was in my 71 nova that ran 10.18 in a quarter. For all u lol guys that posted smart remarks, i know my trans am weighs more and it will change times. I am try'n to get rid of the opti spark junk. I am wondering what it is gonna take to put it in my trans am. will carb and distributor fit under windshield, and what about fuel, can i put a regulator with a return on it. please any info will help.

SBC or LT1 doesn't really matter dimensions are the same and both have been done.
Seems to me though that the distributor clearance is a bigger deal than the hood, but that just takes basic observation and reasoning skills.
Hell the 91-93 TBI b-bodies got an intake with a larger distributor hole to facilitate distributor removal and their distributor is nowhere near as burried..

Either way its been done.

The nice thing about putting in a carb setup is no electronic crap. Just an engine and radiator and a few hoses.

I thought you just put an engine on the line then revved the hell out of it and it vibrated down the track in 10 seconds.

A 300hp engine in a 3400lbs will not be 10 seconds. A 300hp in a 2200lbs car, hold on to your wig.

What did it take to put carbed in ur car. I am curious bout clearence on carb and dist, and fuel line, did u change opti spark? that is what im tryn to do, get rid of computer stuff, my lt1 is built but i cant figure out y it is running like ****. It is bored 30 over, lt4 cam kit and has every upgrade u can do but i cant get it to run good. It sits and sounds mean but as soon as i drive it, it back fires and spits. I replaced every sensor and only thing i can think is optispark is messing up. any imfo would be appreciated.

Well first did you even get it tuned? Rofl.

The LT4 Hotcam isn't a real good choice in cams.

If you run a distributor you don't need an optispark. Thats what an Optispark is?

Lol ya, i know my carbed stroker ran 10.18 in a 71 nova with powerglide and 456 gears but it will change in my trans am. motor isnt a lt1 motor its a pro built 383 stroker, and my TA isnt stock either. I am wanting to put my carbed motor in my fuel injected car. Question is will carb, distributor fit under windshield? what would it take? Thats my question? no computer, nothing but a few wires and hoses. any info would be appreciated. Im new to the fuel injected cars. always ran older cars and local crowd impressed me with all the ws6 car in area. Not a beginner or kid in the car world so when i post questions i didnt think people would lol and talk --it. I would like some help and advice. Thank you for ur time

Ya i had it tuned but still not good. local shop built my lt1 and said lt4 was best cam for the motor. Can u put a dist, carb, and different intake on that motor to get rid of opti and fuel inject.

Yes you can. You can run a Edlebrock Jr Victory intake manifold with a distributor that removes the fuel injection and optispark.

If I recall a distributor just clears the cowl, if not you just have to cut the cowl a little bit.

Talk to AI or LE about cams for LTxs. Much much better offerings.
A LT4 Hot cam is a small lift for a 383.

The stock cam on 1.6 RR will lift .477 and .490.
The hot cam on 1.6 RR lifts .525 and .525.

So you can't figure out a basic cam only setup and you think the solution is to try and completely change everything?

Last time the car pulled to the right a little did you swap out the entire front k-member and suspension, brakes because a tire was low on air? That is about what you are doing.
