Didn't see your trans listed, with anything that big you'll need a stall. I had Lloyd spec my car for almost what you asked for and couldn't be happier.

Heads/cam are a gateway drug.
You have been warned.

Welcome to the dark side

The cc503 is a great cam for a 350 with stock heads.
It's been around a while, most tuners have seen it many times and should have no trouble with it.

You'd get a lot more out of a head/cam package, but it will cost you more time and money.
Not being your DD makes that a little more tolerable if you are willing to drop extra cash into it.

Look at what others have done, see how their projects match your needs and budget and go from there.
Keep it simple and repeatable and you'll be up and running much faster.

Lots of people are also running a cc306 with stock heads. Its power is more in the higher rpms, and its an older design, but it should make more power than the cc503. They sound good too.

I run a 226/232 .606/.603 108LSA, stock heads, good quality valvetrain. tci 3500 stall. 3.23 stock rear gears. with 4:10 or 3.73 gears, tuning, and a better brand of stall I think it would be fine for a daily driver. The tci is fine, just likes throttle more.

If the lobes arnt to crazy aggressive on the 230/236 .610 cam I would run it. Use 1.5 rockers if you dont have heads. To run the correct spring on that cam at that lift you need the spring seats machined, which means the heads have to come off. But On 1.5 rockers it would drop the lift to .571/.571, a decent range where patriot 8401's could be used. Then IF you get heads you could upgrade the springs and rocker arms later, but once the cam is in youll probably opt for spray or something instead of taking it all back apart.

I went with my cam because I was told it would do what the cc306 does, only at lower rpms. I would also go with that 230/236 over the 230/244-backasswards lift- cc306.

Not trying to be a douche but you were just asking about feasibility on doing a ls1 swap last month. Is that out the window? Cause if not then why even do anything with your current engine.

To add to the thread though, I would go custom. LE is cutting me one that will make awesome mid range power to pull my Buick out of corners. Going to sound mean also. He can also give you a whole package with everything you need besides gaskets.
