well put whatever setup you want on your car that will get you up to about 425 hp.....
1. so it's either heads and cam setup...
2. nitrous with a few bolt ons....
3. ALL the bolt ons available and sticky tires....
cause HIS car has about 425hp and weighs a TON. if YOUR car has 425 HP it weighs about 400-500 lbs less. equal driver and weather conditions and you'll destroy him.

The answer to your question depends on whether he's got an auto or an M6 and whether (if it's an M6) he knows how to race it well.
The auto 5th gen SSs have been dog slow at my local track (high 13s). Those only have 400 hp from the factory, and I would guess that they dyno in the 320 RWHP range (at 4000+ lbs curb weight). I have raced several near stock auto cars (never really ask about mods, but maybe they have computer/exhaust/intake) and they've all been really disappointing. I raced a blown auto on stickies and lost by a couple cars (his 12.3@113 to my 12.6@112 in my BMW). On the other hand, I have run into one blown and well tuned auto on stickies that went high 11s at 120 with something like 550 rwhp.
The M6 cars have 426 hp from the factory and dyno in the 360-370 rwhp range I believe (again, moving a 4000+ lb tank body). I think I've only seen a couple of those, and they were running in the mid 13s at like 107. I think they're probably just a touch quicker than an M6 LS1 car, stock for stock (though my stock LS1 Formula did 13.3@108 and would have put up a really good fight). You probably have the power to trap in the 110 mph range, which should be good for up to a 12.3 or so with a converter and stickies.
If the guy can't race his M6 well, he's probably going to run high 13s or even maybe 14s. So that's a potential wildcard...

Look at the numbers, 5th gens run high twelves low 13's stock at 110-113. There weakness is getting off the line with an incredibly long 1st gear and crappy 275's. Don't race him from a roll! Since he plans on doing full bolt ons he will most likely be able to trap 115-117. Ls3 engines have .55x lift cams stock so you need a pretty good size cam with alot of duration. What you have going for you is being an auto and a lighter car. If you get a good stall like mentioned above, good cam, tune, and a set of slicks your 60' will crush him and hes more than likely not going to catch up to you. Good luck man keep us posted

I think his CC 304 may well be enough cam.

i watched the guy race about a week ago and yes he has a manual, but he cant launch to save his life (on the street anyways) so i think if i can take him from the launch and get far enough ahead i could probably take him.... hopefully as i said i can get enough money before the end of next month to do the stall/gears and trans rebuild

My old pile ran 12.9@104 1.77 60' stock motor. Vig 3200, 3.73's, LTs, ET Streets, and all the other bolt ons. Get him from a dig and I don't think he'll have enough to come around you on the big end.
