Default Ported intake

I ported my intake and it looks great but I need some suggestions on how to make sure I get every little shaving out of my intake. I see some inside and I did blocked it off the best I could but i got some in my intake.

Can I soak it in something or spray water in there? I tried to vacuum it out and sprayed some high power air in side which helped out a lot.

Then after I get it out, I am going to paint it which I used a wire brush and rag plus some break cleaner which worked amazing.

Why wouldn't you be able to put the intake in water?

idk, for one I wouldn't think it would do much to get the shavings out since they are a bugger to get out.

If the intake is dry they should come out with compressed air.

Its off the car I am assuming?

Btw for your mods 58mm and a ported intake isn't needed. The stock intake is know to be good for like 450hp+.

Its a great designed piece.

well its not dry its got the carbon deposit, I believe that's what it is, also it looks wet inside so they will not come out easy
Yes its off
what do you mean its not needed? I mean its not going to help me a ton but it will help me a little. Its nothing like It would be if the intake was ported and I had a cam etc.

I'd carb spray it and try to clean it with like a wire brush or a tooth brush in there. Then let it dry and try to get them out.

A stock 48mm throttle body flows 783cfm.
A 350 consumes ~516cfm at 6000rpm at 85% VE, at 100% (not gonna happen) it needs ~607cfm.
Even at 7000rpm (PCM limit) it only needs ~602cfm.

The 94 up MAF sensor flows 719cfm without a screen.

As I said a stock untouched intake manifold has supported over 450hp.

if the guy already has it bought and is planning to use it let him... it certainly cant hurt the car any. Besides maybe he will use it if he does further mods in the future... buy it now keep it for later idea.

The problem with opening things up to big is it will kill throttle response, if its not needed.

Thanks for the great Idea guys! I appreciate it.
I bought a bunch of parts off a guy i knew and he only mocked it up to the car so then he threw that in with the parts as well so I said I might as well use it. We will see what it does to my car, plus my car has always had slow throttle response.

I let mine soak in a parts washer completely stripped of course and took brushes and scrubbed it out. Then blew it out and cleaned with brake cleaner.
