It sad but the engines are just dieing no tuners no reall aftermarket hell even gm is killing of parts I didn't want to but looks like I may be converting to lsx just so I can buy parts and get it tuned

we are just entering the transition phase where gm stops making the parts and the aftermarket is starting to pick it up. a lot of aftermarket manufacturers wont pick up the production of a lot of parts because the tooling is to expensive and some of the parts are probably protected under some type of patten or other protection. So soon the aftermarket will slowly pick up production of a lot of parts as they see a market for it. I have seen this transition for few vehicles obviously there is never a guaranty .

It is sad really. There is plenty of performance in an LT1 and in the case of cars built before 1993 the can really be a good alternative to a standard SBC or LS2. They are reliable, cheap, and plentiful and can easily be modded to make plenty of horsepower and bolt right in the place of a previous gen SBC with a LOT less mods than a LS1. Still, they get no respect. I don't really worry about it anymore honestly. The LT1 is still a sleeper in my opinion, why not take advantage of it.

over the last several years they have become popular for swaps into classic cars and hot rods because they are cheap and easy to swap. its and easy way to convert to fuel injection. I know I am putting on in my 69 corvette this winter.
