Default More Power

so i finally got my car, its a 96 ss z28 with a 355
eagle 4340 crank
lunati pro series rods
8.5:1 compression
cams are in-.503 ex-510
it also has lifters rollers and minor valve job and port work
it has 42lb injectors.
the only thing im missing is a 9in rear and axles and some wider tires.
the car makes about 490 to the rear wheels as it sits, but i was wondering what it would take to get it to 650+.
now i would like to get it tuned for this as well and i know of a place that is willing to do it but what would i need to do to get there.
i need help please!!!!
im new to camaros and again could use all the help i can get forgive me if i ask any obvious questions.

Well for the tune, where are you located? Definitely get a dyno tune with that build, a mail order tune might be OK but you'll want it spot on. How do you know how much power the car makes? I seriously doubt it's not tuned, it's necessary after a build like that.

Why do you want more power? That car is similar to my 383 build, makes around the same power and I wouldn't want any more power but that's just me.

To get to 650+ you need a power adder... that's great power for NA and about as good as it gets. Nitrous would be the cheapest/easiest, supercharger or turbo otherwise.

Question

This doesn't add up. Did you forget to tell us it already has a power adder?

The compression is too low even for boost and the cam is probably just a Comp 503.
He didn't tell us anything about the heads which are a critical piece of the performance puzzle.

What trim? Add a meth kit, twin pumps and turn it up.

With that low of compression, that thing can handle up to 15 PSI safely.(if the internals are good)

How would I go about turning it up? Different pulley? Can I get 650hp out of just turning the boost up 10lbs?

I don't know anything about blower sizes but a quick glance at Vortech's site says the V-2 line can make up to about 775hp. At that I would say consider a pulley change to up the boost before worrying about the cam. The cam may not be ideal but isn't that bad, and 5psi is a very small amount of boost

you should run some sort of bypass valve.you don't want the output pressure of the supercharger to be determined solely by engine speed, it should also determined by throttle input. Usually, the bypass valve will be set so that the max available pressure for a specific RPM range is achieved at close to 100% throttle input.

is this your first F/I car?
you will need a tune (possibly other parts, fuel related items and such) with each change to boost.
What other mods does it have? (please, list everything changed from bumper to bumper.)
what is the plan with the car and is it your daily driver?

How the hell is a wastegate (in the exhaust) going to help with pressure spikes in the intake tract...
