Ya take it apart and seal it with self leveling silicone and loctite the screws.

With all joking aside, the best solution (although a pain in the a$$) is to drop the water pump and pull the opti off. Open it up (using an inverted torx socket) and clean it. I have done this many times on a variety of LT cars. Just use a little rubbing alcohol and a q tip. Be sure to seal it back up tight to avoid future problems. Most importantly... find where the coolant came from. Look at the bottom of the water pump, inspect the weep hole for coolant. The water pump is designed to leak coolant from the weep hole when the bearings go bad. When everything is back together be very careful bleeding your cooling system, or you will find yourself pulling the opti all over again. Good Luck

coolant leaves a film (sticky) when it gets on stuff. alchohol or electronic spray cleaner from Radio shack. you need to get the optical sensor clean...but I bet it is very sensitive to chemicals. I used a clean piece of tissue with a dab of alchohol and pulled it in the groove of the optical sensor to clean it. you need to completely disassemble the opti to clean it. carefully inspect that all 360 slots in the wheel are not clogged with crud. also replace your opti vent harness...it may be plugged at the valve points...or clogged partially

FWIW i went EWP 13 years ago to stop what were chronic WP's pissing coolant on optis. no problems since. some also do the 'drain tube" mod on the stock WP weep hole

use lock tite on rotor screws...you can also use a skim of RTV along edge to seal it. I don't but some have. some also use a skim of dialectic grease on the opti cap seal

Quick Reply: got antifreeze in my opti!!!
