Default odometer swap

For my swap I need to install a v8 cluster. Is it possible to swap the odo so I can keep the mileage original?

Same dash. I know the cluster I ordered is fine with my dash but its 2k less miles then my car actually has so I am just wondering if its possible just to remove to odometer from the back and put my v6 one in. As far as I know the only difference is the tach and mph

Personally I wouldn't worry about it.. 2k less means u gained 2k less.. In the end if u sell it will be close enough..

The mechanical odometer should swap right over. 97's are a different story though.

Which is why I am not. Just switching to keep the original miles. Which is more then the replacement has.

Its NOT illegal to modify an odometer to replace the original just as long as it is set to the correct mileage...
A speedometer shop/ repair shop can do this for you if you bring the original one in so they can set the mileage .

If the cluster you are getting has a mechanical odometer then why dont you just roll the mileage up to match the cluster you are taking out?
