From what I can remember it was pretty flat line around 13-14. Seemed fine to the tuner and myself, however I don't remember the exact rating.

Not sure what you mean? Sorry but not alot of seat time at the drag track in this car... I come from dirt racing with direct drive trans to this and still a little lost.

Negative, fluid smells fine and it didn't seem to slip at all other than the falling on its face part after shifting to second.

Someone mentioned the knock module to me today. Now I never gave it any though at all before now, so I have a question or two about it.. Not sure if the tuner disabled it or not yet. I will try to find out in the morning.

So I pulled the PCM to check the module.. After getting it out and pulling the cover, I come to find a empty spot. So my question is, if there is no module, can a tuner immediately see that through the computer and make the correction to delete it? If not then would this kill my power that much? Thanks again for the help gents..

we dont race dynos......we tune with them..........we race cars........get it to the track before you start thinking the whole world is melting..........

fyi....took my car to local dyno for a "dyno day"......dyno reads kinda goofy with auto cars....i put down a whoppping 440rwhp through 29" slicks, a 4l60e with a 4800 stall and a dana 60 with 4.56's......14.5:1 compression twisting 8200rpm everybody was laughing at me saying LT1's are junk and dont make power........then i showed them a 9 sec slip with a 136mph trap speed at 3300lbs and they changed their mind.........

F&CK DYNOS....dynos are a TUNING TOOL ONLY they are there to get your tune close to where it should be safely...in reality the tune should be dialed in in a real world scenario such as the race track....the whole concept of comparing dyno numbers to try and see if you motor is good vs another is completely rediclious......might as well just flip a coin.....take em down the track thats the real info

Thanks for the help.. I take it you didn't see the post of the time slip though. This thing pushed a whopping 86mph and a 8.28 et.. So after spending over 10 thousand dollars in the car and and only being 3 tenths faster and 4mph quicker than my stock motor I'm lost.... lol

U are going to have to look at a LIVE datastream. If the car has been tuned to delete km then u have no problem. If not then u are going to see a TON of timing retard. Im betting this may be your issue. Good luck

Get a shift light and set it to 6200. Takes info directly from the PCM so you have no doubt the RPM is accurate.

I agree. I always say I'd rather be a track king than a dyno queen. But it sounds like you may have some real issues to deal with, good luck, you'll figure it out eventually.

Most LT1's like the AFR's to be in the 12.7-13.1 range. IF higher you might be losing out on about 10-15 hp. not to mention the additional timing you could run.

So just a little update. I pulled my PCM to find no module at all. After the fact I ordered a LT4 module and for ***** and giggles, I installed a LT1 module for now. Once I completed it and started the car the service engine light went off.

Now as for the engine light.. When the dyno was done their was no codes showing on the DTC, it read OK. However the engine light stayed on the entire time running. Tuner said everything was fine. Now after the install of the module the light goes off once the car is running. Decided to take it for a spin and really couldn't tell a difference on the street.

I also called the tuner today and spoke with him. He did not remember deleting the KM from the computer and suggested the lt4 module as well, but didn't state if that would make a big difference in power gains.

What do you guys think?

I don't think any of us ever tried running a car with no knock module atall so I don't think anyone else has experience to tell you what would happen.

What tuner recommended the LT4 module?

I told him about the LT4 module Since theres a false knock with roller rockers the PCM pulls timing You either need the LT4 module or Tune out the KM IF you dont the car will be down on power with a stock PCM Correct me If Im wrong LoL Every build Ive ever seen done one or the other

Thanks... I did find out that the tuner didn't tune it out so, I guess I will be trying her out this Wednesday if weather is decent. However I do have the worry or thought of now having the module in causing it to need another tune for checking the timing. I would think that the timing would be off, being the computer was tuned to run how it was without the module. Now I'm thinking it could advance the timing to much. Does this sound right to you guys or am I clueless here. Lol
