i got my tune today from
pmcforless and now my car is over heating do i need to get a transcooler a tranny tune up or coolant flush i need help i have 4.10 gears a longtube headers

If the tune was the only change and the problem popped up immediately I would say a mistake was made in the programming. I had enough mistakes from Bryan that I stopped using him a long long time ago. Popular means popular but people mistake it for good.

 

Are the fans conning on?

Could be a t-stat sticking

 

I thought the T-stat was designed to stick open if stuck??

How long does it take driving before starts overheating? I would check to see if fans are coming on first

 

I know there is a brand that makes some thermostats like that but I haven't seen one for a LT1.

What really irritates me is when people are giving you things to check and you keep going on about some bullshit you think could be wrong. Listen to the people, check your ****. Why in gods green earth would your car overheating on your ENGINE TEMPERATURE which is in the HEAD, be related to the TRANS overheating? Heyzues Christ.

OP, are the fans coming on?

 

If it heats up at idle, then cools down at highway speeds it is likely a cooling fan issue. If it heats up at highway speeds you have something else going on. The PCM turns the fans off above 40 MPH.

 

unplug .the connector on the front of the WP...do both fans come on? they should

since your problem happened after the tune that may be the issue...but to the tuners benefit check your cooling system **** first

you chose the tuner...one i would not have

 

i have 4.10 gears and a pcm for less tune the fans are on and thw car smoke on the highway once i pass 3000rpms i new two this stuff

We'll try to help you figure this out but IF THIS ALL STARTED AFTER THE TUNE...
....CALL/EMAIL THEM RIGHT NOW AND COMPLAIN!!!

What color smoke?

 

I tried to help this guy in his other thread that's very similar. I gave up.

 

ok thanks everybody i found the problem it ws a oil leak from the valve cover i guess it must of pop the seal when i test driven it the day i got the pcm back ....and all fan are wire to come on when car start

So you saw some smoke and thought it was overheating but didnt look at engine temp gauge to actually see? oh and op did you check the to see if fans come on?

 

the fans was not on andi guess that the pcm have my car going high power because oil started to come out thw valve covers
