267/272@.050 110lsa 107.5 icl ~.700 lift. It would go faster with 10 degrees less cam or installed on a 103 with a 107 lsa with this converter, but it should RIP when I start spraying it. Bottom end is a Cola crank, manley rods, and custom domed JEs, filled factory 4 bolt block. Should be good for 28 or 29 jets in the direct port.

Yea nitrous related

Yea it's a rather large cam lol stud rockers, 3/8" pushrods and beehive springs around 210/480 pressures, factory GM lifters with shims to limit plunger travel to ~.017".

It's a nitrous combination, an N/A cam would look different. I have a 7"+ runner intake as well, it would peak similar to a 255° duration cam with an LT1 intake.

Years ago when I was trying to track down their whereabouts/history I came across another CA based company called "Cola Cranks" (Inc or Ltd) but it wasn't the same. I think somebody registered the name. Anyways, from what I've ever heard they made very strong and very light weight cranks (like crazy lightweight). At one time I believe one of the two partners was servicing cranks for Nascar teams. I always dreamed about putting a Cola crank into my new motor. They are very rare, hence, why I consider WickedZ's motor to be particularly unique.

Getting back to those cam specs, I had no idea you could run a HR with springs pressures that high. Last question I'll ask is what lifters are you running to handle those pressures? (sorry I'm asking you to spill your guts on your setup).

I remember when my old school SBC builder was putting my engine together and checking out the heads he flipped when my little cam's spring pressures were measuring close to 160/420 lbs installed... he was like those guys gave you springs for a SR! ha
480 is definitely on the high side for an HR setup, and takes a bit more time and consideration to run that sort of valvetrain the the average guy will dedicate.

Limiting travel in the lifter will help keep it from throwing everything out of wack and bottoming out constantly, but also keep in mind that for those spring pressures you don't only need a good lifter and stiff PR, but a quality cam core. A cheap iron core cam with poor heat treating will wipe a lobe quick with ~500#s open, and actually flex around while running.

So only around 220/500 and you can spin 8k? That's light for a decent sized SR, what springs/valves?

Either lightweight hardware or just mild ramp rates on the cam?

got more over the nose.....theyre hollow 2.08/1.60 valves with ti retainers and psi springs...lightweight lifters also....ramp rates on the cam are moderate nothing crazy running just over .700 lift at the valve with the lash tight were i run it when im going heads up

Ah I see, guess I was on the bottom side of "a bit more" .

Still quite a bit less spring pressure then me, but my lobes are aggressive and I don't have any trick lightweight valves and stuff...just tons of spring pressure, shaft mount rockers, and tree trunk pushrods .

The total mass of the intake valve, spring, retainer and lock is 209 grams. Stock valvetrain weighs more than that Probably a little milder lobe than mike, i have the limiter at 7700. 3/8" pushrod is a must, a solid billet 5/16" would be a noodle. I could do a similar setup for a street SR with 230-240° duration, cheap beehive springs, easy on parts pressures, no morels or shafts needed, Comp Endurex would be just fine. Im curious to the type of life i get from these lifters, pulling them at the end of the season to check.

I drive this deal 27 miles one way to the track at 3300rpm (58mph), so I'm not easy on it by any means.

Heading to the track in a bit, DA is hovering around 4200' right now so we'll see how it does!

Stupid ******* track shutdown early, only 3 runs! 6.98 at 98 is all we had time for 3800ish DA. was about to start tightening the front down to improve the 60' and never got a chance so whatever. Next outing is a morning event so it'll be nice to see sub 3000' air before the track gets greasy like it has been every time out in the afternoon.
