Default 1/4 mile time?

i have a 97 camaro with a forged 383 9:1 cr, vortech v7 ysi, FMIC, Meth, 6 speed and stock rear with 4:10 gears. I have sumitomo 315s so traction will be a problem. I havent dynoed the car yet but in guessing 600-650 rwhp.... my question is what do you think I can 1/4 mile? I cant launch hard, maybe a 2.0 60' will I touch 11.5?

All that horsepower and no way to get it to the ground makes me cry.

I'd say you'd get into the 11s, but with that kind of horsepower you should easily be into the mid 10s with a good suspension setup.

Small heads and smallish cam but that's why I will need to run 18# of boost to make the power.

IMO your HP projection is a pipedream unless the boost is north of 15psi and even then I doubt it, but you should still be able to run 11s with a soft launch. Which is fine, most tracks will start hassling you about a rollbar at 11.4 anyway.

You posted 18psi while I was typing, still though I don't think it will make 600rwhp.

I'll take a shot in the dark here. I'd say first time down the track you'll still be 12's at around 118mph..........

I'd say launching off idle and rolling into the throttle your looking at high 11's and trapping low 120's. A 9", slicks and suspension mid to high 10's. Horsepower is most likely mid 500. Heads are killing you. With 227's or 235's your 10 bolt would be screaming for mercy first pass.

Good ported stock casting have done 570rwhp at 9psi non-intercooled so the castings aren't holding him back. Since he said
I have ported stocks and a cc305
it is likely inexpensive mediocre port work. If he had spent the money on good work or what he even thought was good work he would have probably said more.

You are right I'm no a pro by any means but I did the port job. I was trying to be able to pass a cali smog. I might put a bigger cam and big heads some time down the line.

@Bigcat I have a 7.8" crank pulley and a 2.75 supercharged pulley. I'm running a waste gate to bleed off boost.... So I will spin the blower pretty hard but when I hit my wanted boost level the waste gate will open and hold the proper amour of boost. I hope to see about 18 psi by 3k rpm and hold it till 6500. The ysi can produce way more power then my car could ever take. It rated at 1200 HP

Traction is going to be a BIG issue; you will spin down the whole track more than likely with all that torque and street tires....I too have a 6pd, 4.10 geared 10 bolt with the same 315 mm sumitomos.....but mines just a NA 383 around 400-420ish RWHP and it spins all the way through 4th....1st and 2nd are pretty much all smoke even with all rear suspension mods minus aftermarket torque arm. Maybe get some nitto DR's? How do you afford that big blower, stroker, and meth but no rearend/tire to make use of it? Don't be surprised if the 10 bolt takes a dump in quick order. Good luck

i run a 8.5" crank and a 2.95 top wheel and make 21psi with the ysi. don't try to run any smaller top wheels. you will just kill the belt.

as for performance. its hard to say. how hard you lean on it will determine how much power and were its at. with a stick and radials your fighting a losing battle.

Sumotomos? you'll be going no where but maybe into a wall at the track. Look up adam vs moe, this is me with 648 RWHP on slicks and I blew them away at 55mph....
