Default Finally breaking into some potential...

Well when I first got my car it was pretty much bought as a project car, but I'm really gettin there...

- Ran 14.1@97, (2.22) March 3rd at E-Town with the car in the condition how I bought it...
- Ran 13.2@107 (2.20) tonight at E-Town with a swap from stock injectors and an FMU to 42 lb/hr injectors and a PCMForLess tune.

13.2 still definitely doesn't satisfy me... 10mph gain is pretty good, I'd like to be in mid 12s soon, though. The headers suck, and my cam is probably bleeding off a pound or two of boost...but she's gettin there!

Bad news is I got into an acciedent on the way down there... ****** rich guy in a TL type-S decides to cut my friend off, and I couldn't stop in time (love those LT1 brakes ), and I hit him... just paint damage but more money i have to waste

well the object of a blower is to pressurize air to pack more into the combustion chamber than a naturally aspirated motor would be able to do unless it had more cubes. Now, if the valve is open too long then the pressure from teh air starts to bleed off and you start losing boost. The problem with my cam is that it has too much overlap, and boost is getting bled off. I plan on swapping in an XE 224/236 114 lsa, lots of extra exhaust duration there to get the extra exhaust built up from the blower out.

What about that cam letting the intake air shoot out the exhaust valve? Don't know but it's a reply.

Don't you have Edelbrock shorties? Are you plan on getting some Hooker LTs or something along those lines?

BTW: 13.2 is A LOT better than 14s....

definately headed in the right direction. Have you ever had the car on the dyno? reason i ask is i just ran my mild 383 combo last week for the first time and with a bad opti and the cats the car still ran similar time to yours (13.1@110 2.35 60ft). i would think a car with your mods would be over 400rw but i have no experience with blower lt1 cars. sometimes i wish i had built my 383 with 9:1 so i could put a blower on and go for 500 rw but thats what a tnt kit if for

That's what I was thinking, the trap and times aren't great, I really feel like I should be putting out more power than I am. I don't like relying on it, but aside from the tune the cam may be bleeding off boost... somethings still not totally right, but she's running tons better than she has been. As soon as I get money I'll start "the purge" and get the **** parts out and replace them with decent ones. The guy who built up the car really skimped on a lot of parts... Here's a list of what I'll be replacing...

B&M 2400 stall ===> Vigilante 3600 stall

Crane 214/222 112lsa ===> Comp XE 224/236 114LSA

Edelbrock shorties/2.5" Y-Pipe/Borla Catback ===> Jet Hot Longtubes/Mufflex 3" Y-pipe/GMMG chambered catback (might stay with the Borla)

PCMForLess tune ===> Cartek dyno tune
