What is the Lt1 version of the MS3 cam?
LOL! Always quick to bash. Keep trolling. We have had tons of success with the Magic Sticks.

OP, considering that camshaft is built/spec'd for an LS style engine you're not going to find something that is an exact correlation to it. Size wise you might but not how it performs. "Off the Shelf" that is.
Not because the cam itself is inherently bad, but because the reasons behind why it is chosen are flawed.
That and the PRC 2.5 + MS3 combo has been done ad nauseam.
I have a brand new in the box still in it's sealed plastic wrapper around the box CC306 cam for sale. Is it the best cam for your combination? No....I can say that with confidence even though I don't know what your combo is because in every instance there is a better custom grind and likely a better off the shelf grind than the old CC306. That doesn't mean it's not still a proven camshaft that can make good numbers both on the dyno and on the track. Plenty of people on here have gotten great performance out it. They would probably have gotten even better performance with a different grind, but that doesn't make the CC306 junk.
Sweet backstroke. I give it a 9/10.

50 guys could use the same cam and get 50 different results at the track.
Not to mention that since it's a Comp grind right out of the catalog, there's a good chance that someone using that cam setup their whole combo out of a Summit catalog which usually gives lackluster results.
Basing a cam on what some people with poorly setup cars run is no different than someone buying an AI h/c package and expecting their car to run like Joe's right out of the box.
MTI T1/B1, Lunati Voodoo can, Thunder Cam, Hotcam, etc... I think some of those were around long before you had a drivers license.
Probably because it was one of the first radical offerings for the LT1 and GTP made it work very well. It's reputation then spread like crazy that if a good set of ported heads were used it would make great power.
CC306 can do great things with the right supporting setup, too many people are quick to blame the cam when the combo doesn't though.
This was Chris' Z28 right?
IIRC Marsh was one of Craig's guinea pigs for LT1 heads. I think he charged Marsh around a grand or less to do his heads. A friend of mine, Mark Wilgus was his second project. Craig flew into DFW to deliver the heads because Mark was being such a woman about wanting the heads in a hurry. His car had a MTI 383, Craig's heads and 306 cam and turned a 12.0 @ 120mph in a full weight, stock geared on Pep Boys Futura "H" rated tires. Good times.
