Default We need a "hardcore" lt1 forum...

The lack of searching and educating oneself on this forum makes me not want to come here and offer any help.

Sad but true.
There are teachers, there are good students, and there are bad students.
And then, there are bad students that pretend to be teachers.....and that's where it REALLY goes downhill

I need a forum with tips on finding what I want using the search function!! I searched for over a half hour yesterday for info on removing the traction control from a 1996 TA a4/4 channel car I recently bought and all I could find was info on deleting the whole system or on relocating it on LS1 cars. I needed to know if/how I could remove the part (ASR module) that sits on top of the engine while keeping ABS functional for when the kids drive it. Spartan posted up a link within 10 minutes with all the info I needed. Often when I search, I either find alot of unrelated info......or alot of threads where something I search is only mentioned in a list of mods.....or other randomness.
It has gotten to the point where I enjoy reading others' posts and helping out where I can, but I hate to ask anything because of all the people who are so quick to point out that it has already been covered. I do think it stinks that we still get so many questions that are already asked/answered within the last 2 days.....or are already answered in the sticky section.

what we need are more write ups to the most commonly asked questions. Headers, air, egr delete. EWP install, throttle body bypass...ect. Will this stop all the repeat question? No it won't, but then we can get the mods to start locking threads and (try) keep contained to the write ups.

Shoebox has a boatload of writeups, but they are not really linked to this site. All we really need is 1 good thread full of JUST writeups, nobody writing "thanks" and "awesome" and taking up space, just

HOW TO INSTALL LONG TUBES

HOW TO REPLACE OPTI

HOW TO TRAP DOOR METHOD FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT

HOW TO DELETE AIR/EGR AND BLOCK OFF EMISSION PORTS

etc etc

Or we need more people to go to LTxtech

IIRC you stated at one time you were only here to entertain yourself.
Are you thinking of reviving that "goodbye" thread of yours again?

There is already a sticky for writeups, he was talking about a "hardcore" or "advanced" section for lt1/4 cars.

I don't think the user base is here on this site, but I wouldn't mind having that section. I could probably count the builds of active members that I would consider hardcore on my fingers.

If you have a serious question and you made any effort to search, creating a thread for clarification from somebody else isn't a bad thing. If anyone has a problem with that then they probably aren't that helpful anyways.

CZ28.com had an active one for a while in the early and mid 2000's, however it started getting overrun with basic tech questions. Mods there started expressing their frustration at having to endlessly move basic tech question posts to the point of wanting to disable the forum. It's still there, but is still quite overrun with basic questions and is almost dormant.
