QA1 Rear Shocks... Single or Double adjustable?
#43
The modifications are very limited by rule. The most significant modification for these motors would be any duration camshaft. The most significant modification that I have done is my tuning.
I did post my beliefs and theories about how these cars need to be tuned on this website. The basic response that I got back was that these have all been tried (but now how I did it) and disregarded. That turns out to be true for the ones that attempted it, but it wasn't true for me. The discussion somewhat soured me on talking about what helps and what doesn't.
I think the results of my car at Indy and other heads up races against combos that are superior to mine have proven my theories correct. The mods on my car are secret, but I will say they all fall well within the specs of the rule book. Not all the mods are engine. A great many of them are in the car itself.

So no releasing any suspension pieces that have worked/not worked for you? Im not trying to hijack your thread tony, but it seems like Longbob's car/chassis is what you are aiming for with your street stock goals, and with your unmodified engine.

I strongly feel that a level launch helps ET. Just imagine how much torque it would take to twist a car. You see a lot of cars that leave with the driver's side front far higher than the passenger side. That takes a lot of torque to do that.
Now imagine that same car with an anti roll bar keeping the car level. What happened to the torque? It is still there. Simple physics says it has to go somewhere. So where did it go?
It left out the rear tires.

and for most of us would probably cost another $400 to have installed right.
They compromise street manners because it keeps the rear axle and chassis parallel PERIOD even if one tire falls in a pothole or something.
I am not saying they are bad just saying installation cost money and these are more of a racecar thing than a daily driver thing before everyone with a 12 second bolton car thinks they need one.

That one looks like it would be nice for a true daily driver that you still want to launch!! when you take it to the track. It looks like you could simply remove the link arms for dd use and the car shouldn't drive any worse than having no rear sway bar. (I've been riding around without one for awhile due to laziness and haven't noticed any lack of cornering ability.) Then just bolt the links back up when you hit the track. It also includes a double adjustable panhard rod. That's a nice plus. I also saw that they are on sale right now for only $565.
