As someone that has had literally every exhaust known minus duals on a bolt-on LT1, I'll suggest Magnaflow with a cutout.

The drone/resonance you'll get from Flowmaster, LM, or Borla will make you want to drive off a cliff after 5 minutes

what is the performance value of a cutout versus a catback? Do the electronic cutouts really work?

My SS is a 97 1/2 so it sadly came with the dual/dual and resonators. I wish it was a 2OTL.

To the question, depending on your budget, I'd look at a GMMG, Stainless Works Chambered exhaust or a Borla with no plate. Of course you would always run a cut-out on anything.

Not much performance wise, but it just frees up your exhaust as if you completely removed everything past the y-pipe.

Its mostly for convenience for those who dont want their car to be loud 100% of the time. You can make it loud and silence it by flipping a switch. Handy for those who have strict cops or quiet neighborhoods.

Not true, depending on the application. Cutouts have been known to show a 10rwhp increase across the entire rpm band. Again, depends on the application and how restrictive a full exhaust is.

Forget the SLP, get GMMG and never look back (I promise you wont). You might think SLP sounds good, until you hear a 4th gen with GMMG, then you'll just want that.

www.madhammer.com is the best place to get GMMG, it's the cheapest, free shipping, and the original maker of GMMG. Order from anywhere else and you get the same product, but just have to pay a middle man

You will never want louder, unless you're like me

I have a Borla catback with an open plate and I think it sounds good. (Also headers and a big cam, but those details aren't important)
