I would be cheaper to just buy an exact copy of this topend than to consider a fabricated intake or even a single plane conversion.
I know that is the second time I linked it.

I think folks are all too willing to dismiss what has been done in favor of what they think will work.

96, though the horsepower numbers will be similar, if OP just buys the matching top end to Thunderchicken, he is still down on compression and short 14 cubic inches. He could obviously have the heads milled for compression but that'll affect shrouding and flow possibly by a great margin.

Do you think he's maybe too caught up in the actual numbers and he should just get a really nice custom grind spec'd for him? The car should respond favorably to a bit more aggressive and tailored cam. The difference should be enough to feel SOTP even if not quite 50 Hp.

You might be able to gain 50rwhp at a few points in the graph but I doubt you will cross 500. Might be able to flatten your curve a bit with custom grind on say a 108 or 110, but 500 is a very rare feat to hit with an NA pump gas LT1. I cant even think of anyone, (aside from joel maybe but he never dynoed his car) who has crossed 500 on pump gas with a hyd roller...

Agreed. He may see 50 Hp at some point on the graph but it probably won't be at the peak.

How street driveable do you want it? I'd suggest something around 244-248 intake duration on a 104-105 ICL, 107lsa would work with an 8-10 degree split.

youve got a computer good to 8000 and a bottom end good into the 7krpm range.....run a moderate HR cam with good valvetrain parts, dont be afraid to go 72-7400 with it........get it done....theres alot of good cam companies out there me personally ive had great luck with AI's stuff......i rolled 425 cam only in my ls2 DD with a AI 226/234 and i rolled 550 with my LT with a larger AI SR cam but its nothing super crazy

The duration is correct, but the LSA is too wide and ICL too late. It'll be soft in the midrange, which is NOT what you want with only a 4.11 gear. Looks like an LS1 grind to me, not something for a 8.5" intake tract.
