REVmax Converters
Been browsing around for a converter and came across these guys.
http://www.revmaxconverters.com/inde...l60e-350.html?
Anyone running one of these on their car? Interested in their 3200 stall.

Reportedly the owner has a history of interesting business practices. Not saying you won't get a converter that works just fine, I just wouldn't bet on it. Custom spec'd converters from Hughes is what I have always run. That or an off the shelf Yank or Vigilante. The 3-5 year warranties and free stall adjustment are a big plus.

I bought it 3 1/2 years ago. Before that I had a remanufactured 12" 2800 cutting 1.8 60ft and actually my 1.65 was with a 3500 Rev Max. I sent it in to make it a 4,000 and haven't been back to the track yet

I'm impressed, I've admittedly never owned a REVmax but I did a TON of research on them and didn't like the things I was finding. They appear just exactly like the budget TCI converters that are rebuilt and modified factory converters with tiny lock-up clutches and adapter rings welded to the front of the converters. I think for slightly more money, a guaranteed new converter with a 3 year warranty would be the better choice than a remanufactured converter with a 1 year warranty. Just my .02

wow, pretty surprising actually.
I just dont see myself spending over $500 for a converter. $345 is nice, close to what those Edge converters are running.
I had a Circle D 3000 stall on my 08 sierra, great stall and @$400 it was a bargain! But i think the LT1 stalls from Circle D are around $700?
I use to daily my sierra with the 3k stall, i think id wanna stay around there for my Fbody even if I dont daily drive it. 3200 or so is where id like to be at

In the end of the day, its whatever works at the best price isnt it? Sometimes top dollar stuff doesnt perform like you think it should, and sometimes cheap stuff works really well.
My car wont be a full blown drag car, its mainly a street car which will see some strip use. Rarely.
Im thinking something like the LE2 set up on the top end.
Currently 40 over block on stock top end. long tubes, no cats, 3.73's, cc304 cam, and tune from PCM.
Would really like to hear what stardust thinks of the converter after hes been driving on it

I plan on daily driving a 3600 Revmax once I get my LT1 running. I researched alot on them and couldnt find any negative reviews. Talked to Mcalus on here since he has the same cam and stall I plan on running and he enjoys it. Everyone with them likes them

Have a 3200 revmax in my 94 firehawk and so far its been great. Although I'm not pushin crazy hp it seems like a real nice converter. It really woke up this car. Just my personal experience but it has worked great for the 12 months its been in the car. I myself would buy another one.

Ok, let's get some things straight here... Seems as there is a bunch of misinformation being reported...
First of all, all of our components we use are IDENTICAL to the parts used by Yank, Circle D, Vigilante. We all use the 245MM GM core to build our converters off of, PERIOD! So, those of you who spend $700+ on a converter still have as you call it a "cavalier" converter. There is no "NEW" 245MM, 258MM converter housings, there never has been other than when they rolled off GM's line.
We offer two lines for the LT cars, our stage 3 and stage 5. The 3 is perfect for those of you with under 500HP and less than a 100 shot of NOS. For those of you with higher NOS sprays or HP, the stage 5 billet converter is the way to go. We use the EXACT SAME KIT and core components on our stage 5 as do the other converter builders do. FYI the "billet" converters on the market are identical to the non billet converters up to the clutch disc and front cover.
Please do your research and you will find the products we sell are top notch and we back it with the BEST customer service in the industry. There are HUNDREDS of LS1Tech members running our product is there LS cars. Unfortunately, the converter world is one that is filled with mystery and fear mongering. We try to educate our customers and all of you in the community to make it more transparent. Now, if you feel the need to spend hundreds of dollars more on the exact same part, that is your choice, but it will NOT perform any better. If you are ever in Charlotte, we invite you to stop by our facility and check us out!

FWIW, I bought my stage 3 3600 stall during the Christmas sale. I'll be getting the trans next week. Since its a stock engine, I can't wait to see how it does on the street and track. When the time comes for a billet converter, I'll probably be going back to Revmax since I work damn hard for my money and I want to get the most out of it, just like everyone else.
