When I pulled the seal it was torn up on the inside edge. I have never liked teflon seals. Yeah if I decide to tear the thing down years from now I bet a few rods are bent along with some other items. Pretty much I would pull the good bits and scrap the rest. However I am not in the mood to pull the motor, or even look at it anymore.

I sort of feel your pain. My **** is on jackstands, only needs valvesprings replaced, hasn't been run for months, yet I can't find the motivation to take the couple of hours to get it done. I think if something like that would happen to my heap I would set it on fire.
