Default LS1 Wiper Cowl on LT1 car?

I just installed a set of 98-02 wiper arms on my car. The new arms work very well, they seem to press more firmly on the windshield than the 93-97 style ones did.

Only problem is that the LS1 arms have a slightly different bend to them than my old ones, and the black plastic cowl that covers the wiper motor/transmission is huge compared to the 98-02 style one. So now when my wiper arms are all the way down, they stick up a couple inches into the windshield because the LT1 style cowl is so big and bulky.

So now I'm looking at buying the 98-02 cowl, that way my wipers will sit as they should when not in use. Anyone know if it would be compatible with our 93-97 cars?

93-02 all have the same cowl trim. What's different is the wiper shafts.

The only difference is there is two rubber pucks that poke out for the wipers to rest on for the 98-02

This. I got new LS1 arms and threw them on my car. My cowl is a little fudged up on the corners so I am looking into an LS1 cowl for this reason lol

reviving an old thread.

so I don't need a new cowl? I can just grind down the wiper arm rests a tad till my LS1 arms slide right over?

Might get a new one anyway cause mine is faded

Clean it off with soap and water, dry it, then hit it with a heat gun.

Like I already said, all 93-02 cowl trim is the same. It has the same part number. I've had trim off a 97 and 99 beside each other, absolutely no difference. The wiper shafts are different, the 98-02 ones are shorter because of the wiper arm design change. LT1 wipers on LS1 shafts will interfere with the cowl.

And why replace it when you can paint it?

I rebuilt the wipers on my 93, new motor, circuit board, wiper trans, 98+ arms and the stock cowl fit fine.

my cowl is different than my friends 2001 cowl... his cowl has little rubber stoppers for his wiper arms. So its not the same

Those rubber pads just pull right out. I'm sure if you go look, you'll find the mounting holes for them in your cowl trim. I removed and reinstalled mine for painting.

This is correct.

When I had my '94 Formula, I installed '98+ wiper arms without issue.

Screen, air inlet, 93-02, LH 10299673, RH 10246203

Same for Camaro & Firebird.
