Default iac valves

Just wondering what the difference in them is whether you have an engine oil cooler or not. I'm pretty sure mine is bad- engine idles at about 1000 but if I reset the IAC as on shbox's website it will idle down properly for a little bit then come back up after I drive it. IAC is a bwd from advance. They didn't ask me when I bought it last year if my car had an engine oil cooler or not. I ran the # and it's for one with an oil cooler- mine doesn't have one. It was fine for a year though. Just ordered another one for no oil cooler so hopefully that fixes it.

I have never heard of that before...I'm not sure what would make a difference? Just for ***** n giggles though, check for some minor vaccuum leaks just in case also.

Yep I checked all the vacuum lines but I replaced all of them a year or 2 ago. I searched to see if I could find what the difference was between the 2 IAC's (besides the price) but couldn't really find anything definite. I can't imagine what the oil cooler would have to do with the IAC...

Is the engine modified, and tuned?
Does the Throttle Angle show 0% on your scan tool at idle?

Just a few things to the engine but nothing internal that I know of. !egr, !air, Hooker LT's and 3" ORY, CAI. Mail order tune from Madtuner. When I started engine cold it was showing 0% at idle in open loop. Was idling around 900-950. When it went into closed loop idle went to about 1000-1050. Throttle angle was 0-1%. IAC counts @ 34. Idle speed is set to 800.

Is it ok for the throttle angle to be @ 1% or do I need to change that?

Put new IAC in today while messing with the ac. Seems to have taken care of it. Idles right at 800 now. Still curious what the difference is between the iac with engine oil cooler and without if anyone knows.

And the one without an oil cooler is more $. Well that fixed it for a few days. Now it's doing the same thing again. Now throttle angle is usually showing 3-6% at idle. If I reset the IAC it will be fine for a while- between 5 minutes and the rest of the day. TPS sensor maybe?
