A junkyard. All of the tops will probably be broken off.

If someone made a quality replacement dash pad and that little piece they could probably make a decent amount of money lol

I have been looking for one as well.

Year one sells the dash pad

And i know there are other styles of these blocks but i really like to keep it simple and make my engine compartment perfect. this part is keeping me from that goal

If its a show car, I would run the wiring under the fender and behind the wheel liner.

Attitude ? I'm asking about finding a part i would like to replace on my car, and your suggesting taking the car apart and hiding the wires. That was not what i was asking in any way at all.

You provided a sarcastic response to my attempt at providing another perspective. If you can't find the part brand new then you are SOL. Since you have already done some searching and placed orders with various folks only to have them cancelled, perhaps you should indicate who you contacted to assist those in helping you.

Im with blackbird on this one. Those wires are horrid to look at, and tucking the wires is a great way to make the engine bay look a LOT better. Show cars this old really shouldn't look like a stock car that has been in climate controlled storage all it life. Put some personality in your car. just my .02

Well black bird sorry about my response I took your advise and now my wires are all tucked including my fuel lines, injector harness, now I need to hide the power steering tank and relocate coil and icm. Then to fill holes and repaint

Not to bash anyones efforts but is the wiring still out of the weather when on the other side of fender? Do u have to extend any wires to move it there? I see ebay carries the stud for this in black or red so relocation is possible. My car is not worth making it fancy but interested in how its done. I guess what im really worried about is do u have to remove the fender liner to do this?

FYI GMpartsdirect is OOS on the 12186586 and the other link Newgmparts wanted nearly as much for shipping and handling, $12 jumps to $23 when totaled. Who knows if they will come back OOS anyways so i cancelled.

I did order one from gmparts, yesterday we will see if they send one or email me saying discontinued.

As for hiding the wires I drilled 2 holes all the way in the rear of the wheel well once the cover is removed, one on each side about 1.25 in.

Then i unhooked the hood latch cable, fuel lines, and misc wires i had. I put one through hole at a time making sure none were tangled up. Zip tied everything after I pput wire covers on it all and electric taped it closed.
That was the driver side

the passanger side was a bit more work.
same hole as driver side location
these wires have disconnects
Un hook them both
disconnect ground
disconnect power from red block
Disconnect vac hose from ac box
remove tire and liner from wheel well
fish wires through hole you drilled
i moved my ground down so when i tapped it you could not see any of it
the power i used a stereo power block and used small screws to hold block.

The end result is a very clean look but now I want to hide it all. Took 2 hrs total and I was driving again

Thanks i also forgot to mention the holes should have a protective barrer so nothing can rub holes in wires or fuel lines, i used a heater hose cut long way in half then ziptied so it wont move. The hose sticks out of the hole 1/4in in the compartment area.
