And all of a sudden, a high idle appears!
Okay, ever since I got it back together, it has had a fairly high idle after it warms up, around 1200 to 1500. I chalked it up to AIR and EGR delete that hasn't been tuned out yet. Just started it up to pull into the garage, and it started idling at 2500, and eventually dropping down to 2000.
Where should I start?
I have checked it for vacuum leaks already while chasing down a previous problem, so I doubt that is it.

Well I found a wire that got pulled apart on the IAC (I had to rewire some under hood stuff previously). Fixed it, now it starts at 2000, then slowly falls to 1100-1200, where it stays. It sounds like something is moving slowly somewhere.

Cleaned everything up, and it didn't really change anything.
However, besides the hangup, if I block some of the air flow from the IAC, it will idle at a decent rpm.
I'm assuming this points straight to IAC issues, and it should just be replaced.

Just to cover everything, you can try this to see if it works:

It sounds like the IAC is having to compensate. It'd be easiest if you could scan the PCM to see what the IAC is doing. I am wondering if the stop screw for the throttle blades has them open too far?

They should not be completely closed. They should be open with only a hint of daylight showing through. The next thing I would do is check your TPS voltage. Do a search on this site for steps, or pick up a Haynes manual from a parts store if you don't have one already.
