Default Best websites/vendors/companies for LT1 parts/accessories

What are some good websites/vendors for LT1 parts? Any all-in-one websites (like AmericanMuscle for Mustangs) What are some preferred companies for various aftermarket parts?

So far, I've found TPiS, 6LiterEater, and Hawks Third Gen... Which all offer some LT1 parts... But not a substantial amount.

Who are you buying from? What are your favorites?

Stay away from TPIS unless you want decidedly mediocre results for a PREMIUM price.

What parts do you want?

If you are looking for one stop for everything like Summit then forget it.

I try and support forum sponsors or buy local. Also, can't deny the convenience of Summit....

I like Summit... But I'm looking more for a modern Camaro specialty site. Comparable to American Muscle or LateModel Restoration which are great for modern (80s to present) Mustang owners.

Craigslist or the classifieds on forums is where I do 99% of my shopping, rockauto if I want OEM parts, and summit if I need it NOW and can't wait. Other than that, find the part number of the part you need and just start googling it and checking prices on various sites. Sometimes jegs is cheaper, sometimes straight from the manufacturer, sometimes a small company you've never heard of. Things like ARP bolts, control arms, heads, etc dont go bad and have little risk, things like springs or injectors or other moving parts can wear and buying used is more of a gamble unless you know the seller.

The idle air passage is the little passage for idle air on a TB, rarely do aftermarket ones get it right and normally require you messing with it, one of the reasons it's recommended to stay stock tb as long as you can. When it's wrong it makes tuning hard.

^^^ What he said. Find the part you need on Summit or Jegs, then put the p/n in the google shopping section, autoplicity, amazon, ebay, etc.

You can also find good deals in the sponsor sales section of different forums. Small vendors don't necessarily appear in a search.

Summit for gaskets, bolts, studs, fasteners and most other hardware-type stuff.

Rock Auto for OEM stuff.

If you're doing a major driveline or engine build chances are you'll be dealing with several different vendors if you're doing it right.

There are handful of "boutique"" LTx-oriented vendors that still offer complete cam kits or top end/valvetrain packages for nearly any application.

It's a gradually shrinking market. I'd suspect that in 10-20 years high-quality street or race oriented parts for LTx-specific engine applications, as well as a builder or machinist that is highly knowledgeable about the specifics of the LT1 motor will be very hard to find.
