who has put a caprice 5.7L motor all cast iron on a firebird? what was it like is there any difference? will my headers bolt on to these heads? what is the easiest way to swap motors right now the one in my car is just a block

the only difference that i know of it the accessories on the front of the motor are pushed out about an inch compared to the f-body front accessories. the crank snout would need to be changed to an f-body one to get the accessory pulleys to line up correctly. i believe the caprice/impalla motors had iron heads on them as well compared to aluminum heads on the f-bodies, but the headers should still bolt right up.
my car came with a motor out of a 95 impalla ss (previous owner swapped it in) with f-body heads and front accessories on it. when i first got the car i sheaded two belts before i figured out that the crank pulley was about an inch forward of the rest of the accessories.

While your motor is out swap the heads over and accessories.. Cam swap and springs would be a good idea also..

Pretty sure this was all answered in your other thread...
The motor will drop in, bolt up, and run exactly like your old motor.
Just put your F-body accessories on it and go. Just make sure you're not buying an L99, which is the smaller 4.3L "LT1".
