Are any actual datalogs or similar available to show overheating while doing legit autoX or at a legit road race course?

Oh yeah, I also have some lightly used Lunati Beehive valve springs you can have for free if you want them....They weren't shimmed right when I was running them giving me really crappy seat pressure (under 100lbs on the seat) resulting in valve float with my Lunati 60122 cam. But they have 130# seat pressure if installed correctly. They were over $200 new and only have 4K miles on them. They would be a good upgrade to go with some 1.6 roller rockers for a bolt on setup until you get heads/cam!

on my car a shop damaged the seal when installing my opti, caused the spring to pop out so no tension on it. I don't know how they did it but they did... I had no problems when I replaced it myself... cost me an opti full of oil but it had 157k miles on it and was dying anyway... car has never started so good ever so I guess it was a good thing... I did notice that the coupler was a little worn.. but a new one came with the new opti

I used to just send the car out to be worked on because I didn't have time... but after they screwed a few things up in different areas of the car I figured I am best to just do the work myself in the first place rather than paying to have it done and then do it again on my own time.... one question about the water pump though.... is the coupler frozen to the shaft? if it is take it off and clean and inspect and when you pick up that used water pump check the fit on that to make sure the coupler is good and not kind of cocking a little bit on the shaft... might not be the issue at all, but I would not bother to put a worn out coupler in the car

Thanks! I will give them a shot, I have a whole build thread currently, it's gonna be an LE2 build but I'll put them on the motor in the car currently cause my springs now are clapped out big time...

Two people? Thats weak at best (arguing your evidence not its truth)

I was browsing on some ProTouring sites and those guys run EWP, seems to split 50/50 for each camp.

At every event I've attended no one has ran a EWP but a 2nd gen Camaro with a Gen 1 SBC, he went home early after having a head gasket failure do to overheating.

Anyways, I have let my ego get in the way and took my car apart last night... I'm gonna replace the seals myself again, and hopefully they'll hold at least till the 18th

I'll try that this go round. I've used the Felpros the last 3 times, this time I'll go with the Delco brand.

How's about you actually do some real research? Even Meziere himself recommends a mechanical water pump for road racing. He specifically states an EWP is good for types of racing where WOT happens for a small percentage of run time, like single digits small (his words).

I am not the one vehemently defending the position either way. Seems both camps scream and yell about the "proof" but neither can show a single piece of it.

I could not come across a single well organized position on having an EWP, details on OAT/IAT/ECT etc and then swapping to MWP.

From this thread, I cannot see why sustained ~70mph speeds would pose a problem for an EWP. I do that normally while driving. The sustained 130mph in straights, I have no info on and thats what I am pushing for.

Sustained speeds don't pose a problem with EWPs in my experience unless it's very hot outside, the only way I've been able to get the water temp up in the 210-230 range is in very heavy stop and go traffic in 90 degree heat or on the highway when its 100+ degrees....otherwise it stays around 190-210 regardless of how hard it's driven. But I recall the water temp getting pretty hot when it was 100 out with the MWP too...

What part of I have personal issues with EWP do you not understand? I understand their place. Others don't.

Usually, 70mph is not an issue. For some it is a problem, for most it's not.

You very clearly indicated it was more than personal issues in that other thread, I am honestly curious if factual data exists or is hearsay one way or the other.
